description

description

ooehh ahhh very magical, i love atmospheric writing. it was a bit jarring that i'd watched and loved the anne with an e show before, which in one way is a very true adaptation, but in another also adds a lot, or uses elements in other contexts. the show also feels more modern, and less moralising than the novel does. but i was surprised how much of anne's life was covered in this one book, when i know it to be a rather long series (my edition wasn't adapted btw, it was a puffin classics with the same front cover)

My boys enjoyed this adaptation, and they even liked the exercises and questions included with the book. It was a good introduction to the actual book itself.

I did not enjoy this story. Yes, it is a story highly spoken of, but the story just did not click with me.

1. Oxford, Stage 2

2. Oct 11→80 minutes

3. farm, orphan, station, adopt, listen, gables, tonight

4a. Marilla and his brother Matthew wanted to get an orphan to help their farm at Green Gables. They wanted the boy, but they got the girl Anne. She knew that they wanted the boy, she was shocked, began to cry. However, she stayed there, got used to live in.

4b. I thought Anne had very strong mental. Different from their ideal person, she continued to stay at the farm. She gradually grew the big girl, helped the farm. She also had many friends, enjoyed to live. She was very wonderful person because she continued to work the farm though different from their ideal.

5. The author wrote one girl story. She was very strong, so I thought the author wanted to write strong mind of the girl. I think girls has strong mind than men, so I wanted to have more stronger mind.

I could read this story again and again without growing weary of it. The charm Anne has weaved its way into my own heart, and I have fallen in love with her story. As one who was the little girl with a big imagination growing up, this story brings me right back to my childhood. The characters all bring their own sense of nostalgia to the story, and a desire to live in simpler times again.

Anne messes up sometimes. For example, she severed wine for her best friend because she thought it was fruit drink. Or she put some medicine in the cake that was served Mrs. Alan because she thought it was vanilla. I got a relief when her friend's sister got ill and Anne knew what to do, she took some medicine from Marilla's room. The medicine worked well.
