Entertaining and carefully nostalgic - I remember liking this book, especially the narrative idea of connecting stories to a house rather than people, something that I would continue to enjoy in my later reading life.
I would call this an adult book for teeangers, as it is probably aimed at younger people rather than adults, but for teenagers it is certainly a good, grown-up read, far from the oh-so-fashionable vampire crap that is currently on the market.
