In her conversational, confessional style, Joan shares war stories from her own fight against perfectionism and invites readers to do battle with her. Armed with humor, grace and helpful coaching exercises, she delivers three minutes a day that will start women on an adventure of just-right, relief-filled imperfection.
There are 162 one-page daily devotionals in this book. Depending on the amount of time I had I read 1-4 devotionals per day. I enjoyed them so much that I found myself carrying the book around with me, in my work bag, my purse, or just in hand as I ran out the door each day. I took a highlighter to many pages and drew some pictures on others. Very relatable and highly recommended for anyone seeking to build on their relationship with God while embracing their imperfections. I found this gem in a thrift store but have no intention of letting it go. I've already found myself going back and re-reading devotionals that I felt I needed to hear again.
Lots of good messages in this 162 day devotional book. I learned that I do have a tendency to think I am trying to be perfect and I certainly would never have thought of myself that way. I learned different types of perfectionism and how they get in the way of our relationship with God and with others. Easy to follow devotions.
I really enjoyed this as a daily Bible study. I learned a great deal about myself and what I need to just let go of. Great scriptures were used too. I found myself repeating them to myself often.
I enjoyed this devotion book especially since my sister and niece were able to read it at the same time. It was a book that encouraged and gave daily reminders about living the best life you can....and not to be so hard on yourself!n
This book was a gift from a great friend years ago. I finally got around to reading it. I actually included it in my morning prayer routine. I would read one page every day.
