I know I kick myself in the foot every time I choose to read a book in this series. I’ve noted several mistakes in the series, fussed about them, too 😩. I don’t know WHY I was so surprised at the many errors in time, parental feelings, and especially the age and timeline of the Maggie’s children. Even trampling the age of Christopher’s daughter twice in this book, the timeline of the last published book in the series, again brought into question… either I don’t remember what I just read, or Annie can’t remember what she wrote from one installment to the next 😢. So many books, so little time. Make your reading time enjoyable. Choose a different series 😳
This book is about how Maggie and Daniel got together, and the early years of their marriage. It was interesting, but I found the jumping back and forth between time periods distracting. Also, the story ends right where things get really interesting. I really wanted to know how they got from there to staying together for another however many years despite Daniel's infidelities.
I found Captiva Sunset to be a sweet and heartfelt introduction to the Captiva Island series. I enjoyed learning more about Maggie and Daniel’s past and seeing how their story began. The island setting created a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it easy to get lost in the characters and emotions. A charming prequel for fans of romance and small-town stories.
This is a very short cliff hanger story, a prequel to the next book in the series. I found the writing simplistic with the dialogue stilted and parts of the narrative told rather than shown.
I didn’t realize that there was a prequel to the Captiva Island series, but it was fun to go back and see where things started. Very short book, but I enjoyed it
