Geoffrey Hayes has written and illustrated over forty children’s books, including the extremely popular series of early readers Otto and Uncle Tooth, the classic Bear By Himself, and When the Wind Blew by Caldecott Medal-winning author Margaret Wise Brown.
This is such a sweet, innocent book and was my son's favorite bedtime book (he's now 26!). My grandson also loved it as well and I have wonderful memories of reading it with them both.
I loved these books as a kid and I wish I still had them. I urge all parents to look after their child's possessions and keep them safe for when they are older! There are so many books I remember reading as a child but no longer own and I hate it!
This, certainly, is a sweet little book. I sure wish I hadn't given my collection up years ago as I would love to share these stories with my grandchildren who have begun t come into my life. With the asking prices of these older copies being so ridiculously high, they, sadly, will never get the chance to experience these endearing stories their parents enjoyed so much as I am never paying these prices, but they were very dear stories.
this book was my absolute favorite growing up and yes I still read it every now and again. it is so comforting to me. the author did a great job with Patrick, the illustrations are fantastic and every child can relate to not wanting bath time. these goggles smell funny is still one of my favorite lines.
If anyone ever sees this book anywhere, please please please buy it for me. Reading this with my mom is one of my all-time favorite childhood memories.
