Neil Simon is my hero. The crosstalk between Hannah and Billy is the funniest and most poignant exchange ever written. The conversation between the best actress and her "husband" is just as good, but heartrending. Neil Simon is an amazing commentator on the human condition, the choices we make, how we live with our decisions. Brilliant.
It has its moments and a lot of subtle "such is life" humor in it. This is interwoven with some dramatic situations that have very little to do with comedy. A discussion on the human condition as filtered through civilization. S'alright.
