It was kind of good, I thought it would be better also sometimes picking the wrong ending the sitution is better. And I think she became more closer to God that way!
Magna was a really good inspirational book for girls. The author did a good job putting realistic real life scenarios in to encourage middle and high school girls. I think the author could have made this book a little longer but other than that she did a great job! One thing I really liked about this book is that you got to choose different outcomes. I love those types of books! Definitely recommend this book to any girl who is needs some encouragement! Happy reading!
Molly and her friends want to find a part time job to earn extra cash and a discount on great clothes. But Molly is the only one of her trio that gets hired at Manga, the coolest clothing store ever. At first everything is going great. Molly is really good at her job and quickly gets more responsibility. But some girls at school try to bully her into giving her special deals and then her best friends ask her to do something she knows is wrong. What will Molly do?
You decide.
That’s right. This is a Choose Your Own Scenario book, where you read all about Molly’s life and then choose what she will do next. Then the book has two alternate endings, one for each choice Molly could make.
What an awesome idea for a series of books! And the author handled this in such a wonderful way. Whether Molly chose to break the law or stand against her friends, she was still Molly. There were consequences to both choices, and some consequences were harder to live through than others, but this wasn’t preachy. This was honest. So even in the ending where Molly chose to break the law, there was still redemption, and it was neat to read how she dealt with such humbling circumstances.
So I highly recommend this series to all girls. It’s a fun story to read for entertainment and a neat opportunity to see two sides of one choice.
This is also the first book of Nicole O'dell that I read. The other two books has been published before Magna.
This book started with Molly and her friends' idea to have a part time job in some place. Getting extra cash and a discount for cool clothes are their aims and Magna was the first place on their list. Because it was well known with its great clothes and accessories. At first everything ran well till Molly got some pressures. She had to take a tough decision. Every option has its own risk and consequences.
In the beginning ,I liked the main character. Molly was smart and creative young girl. She knew lot of about fashion. But then I started to hate her just because she suddenly turned into clueless girl when the problems hit her. But It did not stop me from reading the next pages. I loved when Molly talked to her parents. At first I thought they seems so perfect and too good to be true. But still I love her parents.I enjoy when they shared everything. A good family relation is something that I look up to in fiction book.
However there is one unnecessary thing included into the plot, it still moved smoothly. I never get stuck. I think I am going to read the Scenario 4.
Something unique from the book is you can get two different ending
I love the concept behind Nicole's books. Tell wonderful stories about girls living through everyday situations and then let the reader choose the outcome.
In each book, a main character eventually has to make hard decision. She must choose to either rely on her faith, the advice and counsel of family or church members OR go along with her peers. Once the reader makes their decision they move to the portion of the book where that story is continued. (I of course read both paths).
Nicole really encourages the reader to think long and hard about what they would REALLY do. Not the easy answer, not the spiritual answer or the answer they know to be right. But, if the reader were in the same situation, what would they do?
As all parents and former teenagers know, young adults don't tend to think ahead or consider the ramifications of their decisions. Nicole's books give the reader that opportunity.
I highly encourage these books for young adults. They are quick and easy reads with a wonderful message!
This is an excellent book for a young girl that uses relative situations with girls "tween" ages to show decisions they may be confronted with peers and consequences of wrong decisions and rewards of better decisions. I foresee many young girls reading this and having opportunity to choose ahead of time what decision they would make if found in a similar situation. It could very well save many young girls from future heartache as well as show them, if they have already made some bad decisions, God can show them how to turn things around if they will turn to Him and receive His help. I think women; especially Mother's will also like these.
People call these books preachy, cheesy and unrealistic. And they're right. Being a teenager is not the same way that they show it in these books. I'm a teenager, I would know. However, its a quick read that is pretty fun. The characters are super cheesy, but they are still pretty lovable. not bad for a boring rainy day read. :)
