This book is worth buying for one of the stories, Naughty Nancy, which was fabulous.
This book includes three stories, all by Jaid Black:
5 stars for NAUGHTY NANCY.
This is part of the Trek Mi Q'an series.
Loved it. There was one scene that had me laughing so hard I almost had tears in my eyes. It was when Vorik first meets Nancy and he is trying to get her to eat.
Story Brief:
Nancy is an attorney who gets transported to the planet Khan-Gor inhabited by kor-tars. Kor-tars shape shift between looking like gargoyles and humans. Vorik initially thinks she is a yenni and later discovers she is human and his blood mate. Vorik is the son of Yorin and Jana whom we met in book 4 titled "No Escape."

Good story. It wasn't her best work, but it was enjoyable. Diane gets a job on a cruise ship for $10,000. She must be naked for one week, as a waitress, masseuse, etc. She is a failed actress and will use the money to leave California and start over in Ohio. Her teenage crush Garek happens to be on the cruise. He is a football star who just retired due to an injury.
The sex scene on page 152 was nominated for the November 2005 Henry Miller award by Nerve magazine for the best literary sex scene written in the English language.

Nice story, typical romance novel with hot sex. A Viking warrior attacks English lands. He sees Lady Elen and wants her. He captures her and tells her she will be his slave. I wasn't wowed, but it was nice.

The flow of Strictly Taboo was past, present, and future. First story Barbarian set in medieval times. The novella developed fast, was well paced and believable. The strength of the characters translated into the awakening love scenes perfectly, since the heroine was a virgin. Her intended marriage to another was her means for escape. while the barbarian wants nothing more to keep her in her bed and heart. I like Jaid’s past times stories. She seems to know how to capture this time and make it her own.
Second story Nemesis was a contemporary romance. Diane, an aspiring aging actress, realizes at 31 her dreams may not become a reality and enlists as crew on The Carnal Voyage cruise ship for men. Garek ex-footballer and Diane’s high crush, is learning his new found retirement at 34 from his career, sucks. So he decided to join his friend on a 7-day cruise. Low-a-behold, but who does he see as he first sets foot on board? His favorite little sweet-tart from high school. Looking gorgeous, older and not wearing a stitch of clothing. Each story has it's own theme so if your not into medieval you can skip it.
Last story Naughty Nancyis a Trek Mi Q’an story set in the future. This one is hard to describe other than to say it was in enjoyable and I’d definitely want to read other Trek Mi Q’an stories. Nancy ends up being sent to a distant planet and Vorik finds her and think she’s yenni a type of “pet” used to sate the male species sexual appetite by feeding their seed to them by way of oral sex. It’s a process, the way Jaid explains it. In any other way I would have rolled my eyes at the absurdity but I liked how she set it up.
All 3 stories is what made this a great book. To be able to take on 3 genres at once and had me loving each on. The love scenes were quickies that left you with an afterglow I’d say.

If you are a Jaid Black fan, you will enjoy this three story book which includes a short story addition to her Trek Mi Q'an tales called Naughty Nancy.
In Naughty Nancy, Nancy has a hell of Halloween. She's out to flaunt her new and improved self when she tangles with a witch who foretells "...a long journey...sacrifices...and love shall be yers (sic)." Nancy finds herself naked, in a nest, and on the tiptop of a veerrrryyyy tall tree. OH CRAP!!!! Lucky for her Vorik is hunting...he's just turned 18 and can finally 'spend his seed'. After a few misunderstandings, some really hot sex, and a transformation, well...you'll have to read the book for the rest!
Nemsis was my least favorite story because it seemed to end in a jerk. Maybe the editors thought it was too long? Diane thinks she must have been crazy to agree to this insane job. Seven naked days on a cruise boat while dancing, waitressing, and giving massages...NAKED...as in no clothes, buff, bare, you get the picture. And here come the men...wait! Is that Garek? I was not expecting great literature, but this steamy anthology was very uneven and, for the most part, just okay. If it's between this and the ketchup bottle, it's going to be a difficult choice for me.
There are 3 stories, each one set in a different time period - past, present, future:
"Barbarian" - set in 9th century England, this is the story of Lady Elen and Ivar, the Viking warrior who captures her. It's fairly predictable. 106 pages. Rating = 2.5 stars
"Nemesis" - the modern day story. It's set in a cruise ship where Diane has taken a job that will pay her $10K for a week's work as a naked attendant (she's a waitress and a masseuse during the first few days). Of course 🙄 her high school tormentor / crush (who is now a studly quarterback 🙄) boards with his BF for a week of meaningless sex. Lots of miscommunication ensues but there is an HEA, are you surprised? 76 pages. Rating = 2.5 stars

Three short stories and in my book they went from worst to best in order.
Barbarian.
The Barbarian is a Viking who is attacking the keep that the very fair Lady Elen of Goderart is living in. Her father died a year before by the hands of the Vikings and now her remaining brothers are battling it out to save their home and their lives. Not content to let the boys battle it out (and it looks like perhaps loose the fight) Lady Elen decides to get in the fray. The Barbarian (Ivar is his name-o) admires this fiery blond wench - even though her efforts cost him 10 men. The Vikings flee the battle with their wounded only to come back a few days later and capture everyone. Lady Elen becomes the Viking Ivar's slave.
This story had such potential - the set up was great. But I just didn't believe it. I found myself snorting at the book and rolling my eyes. The fearful ruthless Viking was a pussy and the Lady Elen was kind of a dork - and not in a good way. I found myself trying to get through the story and hoping the next one would be better.

Again with the snorts of disbelief - But let me reveal the premise of the story first.
Diane is a failed actress who decides to leave L.A. with her 6 year old daughter and return to her hometown. In need of money to do this she signs on for a Naughty Cruise. She will have to work naked the entire week while acting as a waitress or giving massages to the wealthy male clientele.
As odds would have it - one of the 20 men booked on the cruise is her high school Nemesis Garrek Ennis. Now a successful pro football player - he teased and taunted Diane in High School and made life hell. DESPITE THIS she always harbored a secret crush on him. (Snort!)
Yeah - What are the odds? Anyway - I give this story credit for being a Naughty Love Boat. But honestly the story was kind of limp. I had a hard time caring about them hooking up and it would have been nice if there was a "two years later" ending on this so you could see them together living happily ever after. As is it I felt the end lacked a bit.

My favorite of the three - Which means I like Sci-Fi much better than I ever thought I did. Nancy is an uptight attorney who gets sucked into a different world. Sadly she is dropped in a nest on a mountain top wearing nothing but the sword from her Xena Warrior Princess costume. YEAH. Lucky (and I DO mean lucky) when she screams for help someone/thing hears her and flies up to rescue her.
I never thought I was one for hot human on Gargoyle action - but this was a pretty hot little story.
If you see this in a bargain bin I would say pick it up - it would be worth it for the last story.

Barbarian - Ivar takes her as slave after her father reneges on their betrothal and attacks him. While the sex is steamy, I'd like more detail, richness to the story. I think it could have been even better
Nemesis - She agrees to be naked server for a seven day vouage, only to encounter her high school tormentor and crush. Turns out he crushed on her too.

These are some very erotic stories. The first two stories were romantic in a way. However, the last story was just kind of creepy/gross. That’s where the author lost me. I kept reading til the end just hoping it was maybe a dream but it wasn’t. That’s why I gave 3 stars.

These are all really smutty (as are most Jaid Black stories I've read) and slightly goofy. I am beginning to think that I might not be a truly smutty girl since I like a little more wooing with my smut -- rather than just going for it. Jaid Black and I have a rocky history. She has absolutely no problem going there. I don't know where there is exactly but I know that it often feels like it's one step past my comfort zone. It's not beyond me it's just not always for me. At times it makes me feel like a total pervert for liking it and other times I'm cringing or rolling my eyes. Jaid mixes camp with filth and rawness and kinkiness and well, I don't know how to explain her other than to say she's a deviation from what I'm used to reading in erotica and every time I read her I have a similar reaction. I'm sort of baffled, appalled, seduced and undecided. I think of her as a guilty pleasure that appeals to something deep and hidden but often makes me wince. This book is no different and while I won't bore you with my summaries (lots of others wrote great, positive reviews and summaries anyway) I'll just say that my 2 star rating doesn't mean these were bad. They weren't great for me and as I've mentioned I find myself in a pickle while reading/rating Jaid Black's work. I sometimes question the quality then I remember that her style is unlike others and she's entertaining and can write, and well then I talk myself in circles. So I'm leaving this review hanging where it is, which is in limbo, and exactly how I feel after reading her work.

I'm going to review one Story of 'Strictly Taboo' in this 3 Story Book called 'Naughty Nancy', as Part of the 'Trek Mi Q'an' Series.
I'm totally happy for the first time with one of The Trek Mi Q'an Series. The Male isn't overly dominant and 'forcing'- the interaktion is more Primal.
I did not enjoy the struggle of the last few Heroins(in the Installments before) even if they found their mate... The expected submission just makes me want to claw these Males to shreds....
And especially the 'I have to show her her place to not look weak in front of the others' part.
This male hasn't jet learned to be so unforgiving, hard and jaded. As a male Virgin he finds his Mate on the first Try which gives theit relationship much upwind and less forcing.
Unfortunatly - and this is the first Time that this happen to me in Book form.
I can't stop reading even if I hate it... But I'm happy to get to this short Story.
Something like this happend to me a few times with movies... Finding out that the Film is more horrorlike than I thought (reading the wrong discription... ;-) But not beeing able to turn of ... having to know the end of the Story ... even if it probably means that everyone wil have did a horrible death... But one hopes and can not look away...
It is like this with this series... I hate how the relationships are choreographed but I have to whatch the Car crash...
Well this Installment of the Series is pretty save to read.

Unfortunately I only read the Naughty Nancy part, so I will only comment on that part. This is part of Trek Mi Q’an Series but yet it’s not as the setting is nowhere in the known Trek Mi Q’an planets that we have known this far. Instead it is on a mythical planet, a legendary planet that no one knows it is exist. The inhabitants of this planet are also not quite humanoid but a beast that can shifted to a humanoid form (and yes, they can have sex in both forms). The story itself is quite entertaining and funny, because the hero is a young and naïve one; he mistakenly took his mate as a sex pet and “play” with her until he realize that it is his long awaited mate he is played at. But this book is also contains a spoiler for a not-yet-written book (according to the Jaid Black website, the book will be released in mid 2012), so beware.

Vorik's mother turns out to be Jana and he just turned 18 putting this story line farther in the series than this. I liked this little memory of Jana it was sad for a bit but ended happy enough. Since we are still without her story it was good at least to get this tid bit.
Oh I forgot to mention Khan-Gor is a planet where can turn into gargoyle type creatures as well as seven foot tall human.
This was a quick story that could be read as a stand alone but better if read with the series.

Overall: Another fun short story from the Trek universe. Vorik character was a little bit of a dunce, especially after reading that Scared Mates usually recognize each other right away, Well the male does at least. But Nancy's character i think handled herself very well considering everything that was happening to her. The part when Nancy reaches into Vorik brain and sees his part memories really touched my heart. That was a beautiful scene. Again i wish we got more information about our characters.

Dont know why it was rated low but i didn't think it was that bad, thats why i didn't almost get it.
* The first story liked it but took too long to get to the point, its a short story so get to the point.
* The second story liked it but not how it ended it felt like something was missing, liked the concept of the story though.
* Third LOVED IT. It was great reading about Yorin & Jana's son if you haven't read Jaid Trek series then you will be lost understanding the book or might not like it, the series is good would recommend.

'Naughty Nancy' is a short story in the Trek Mi Q'an series. Nancy, a timid shy human wants to change her image to that of a brave, strong alpha female. Following an encounter with a witch, she finds herself trapped in a nest atop a tall mountain peak. Vorik, the son of Jana and Yorin, comes to her rescue. Their first encounter is just too too funny. Lots of humour, some poignant moments, and a HEA ending. And yes, Nancy does become the alpha female she wanted to be. Love this series and really enjoyed this story.

Lots more sex to follow and it's another good story in the Trek Mi Q'an series.

Well, these stories were interesting and okay. Their saving grace were some hot sex scenes, but the rest was just lukewarm for me (characters, plot, etc.) The most bizarre aspect of this book I think was combining three stories, one each of past, present, and future. This may throw some readers off if they do not like all three. The future story was a shapeshifter story, FYI, so if you do not like paranormal erotica you will not like this story.

This is the story of Nancy, which because of witch's powers transported to Khan Gor to meet and mate Vor? The first parts where funny, on how the H thought Nancy as an humanoid alien. But the last parts are icky to say the least. This includes gargoyle/human sex, but this should be done so Nancy can prove that he really loves the guy. This story gives us a glimpse on what will happen to Jana because she have a similar type of mate.

This was a good erotica anthology. The first story was set in Wessex before 1000 AD when Vikings invaded. The second was set on a modern day cruise. The third was set on another planet. All of the stories were compelling and hot. This is worth the time if you like erotica.

This book was delightful. The stories were sweet, sexy and, at times, funny. It was a great mix of different time periods, and a mix of fantasy/reality. I look forward to reading more from Jaid Black in the future!

This was..uhh...an experience? Three stories: the first one was pretty funny and ridiculous, the second one was sad (not tears but cringes), and the third one was unrealistic and boring as hell at the same time.

This book was a little different for me. I didn't mind the first two stories, but the last one was a little strange... Overall it was a interesting book.
