My review is more based on the lore and flavor of the League’s of Votann than their rules and how they were designed to play in the tabletop game!
I’m really stoked to have this *new* army in the 40k universe. They fill a cool niche and are SPACE DWARVES! I mean that is plain ol’ cool! The Codex does a good job of laying a foundation of the critical elements of this faction, but I found it doesn’t go much further than that.
There is a part of me that wishes there was a story or picture of a Votann - outdated but sacred computers these dwarves worship - to really comprehend what this looked like and to display the relationship between Kin and Votann. A few more short stories would have been nice.
This book is a sturdy little skeleton but could have put a little bit more flesh on the bones to showcase more breadth for what this army is all about.
PS I hope they come out with a novel for the Leagues of Votann!!
