With two other careers to her credit before becoming a novelist and four states in which she's lived for extended periods of time, Sherryl Woods has collected friends and memories, along with way too much unnecessary junk.

"The friends are the only things I've brought with me through the years that really matter," she says. "I could probably live without one more chintz teacup, another tin-litho sandpail or another snowglobe, but I need those friends."

The theme of enduring friendships and families is always central to Sherryl's books, including her latest Chesapeake Shores series — THE INN AT EAGLE POINT, FLOWERS ON MAIN and HARBOR LIGHTS.

Author of more than 100 romance and mystery novels, Sherryl Woods grew up in Virginia. Over the years she had lived in Ohio and Florida, as well as California. Currently she divides her time between Key Biscayne, Florida and Colonial Beach, Virginia, the small, river-front town where she spent her childhood summers.

A graduate of Ohio State University School of Journalism, Sherryl spent more than ten years as a journalist, most of them as a television critic for newspapers in Ohio and Florida. For several years she also coordinated a motivational program for the more than 8,000 employees at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Medical Center.

Her first book, RESTORING LOVE, was published in 1982 by Dell Candlelight Ecstasy under the pseudonym of Suzanne Sherrill. Her second book, SAND CASTLES, under the pseudonym of Alexandra Kirk, was published later that same year by Bantam. She began using her own name when she moved to the Second Chance at Love line at Berkley Publishing. In 1986, she began writing full-time and also began her long career at Silhouette Books with the Desire title NOT AT EIGHT, DARLING, set in the world of television which she covered for so many years.

In addition to her more than 75 romances for Silhouette Desire and Special Edition, she has written thirteen mysteries — nine in the Amanda Roberts series and four in the Molly DeWitt series.

When she's not writing or reading, Sherryl loves to garden, though she's not at her best on a riding lawn mower. She also loves tennis, theater, and ballet, even though her top spin has long since vanished, she's never set foot on a stage, and she's way too uncoordinated to dance. She also loves baseball and claims anyone who's ever seen Kevin Costner in "Bull Durham" can understand why.

I'm cranky.

These two are the biggest idiots ever. Eye rolling irritation is not the reaction I want to have when reading a romance.

The H, a big fat idjit, whiny coward that left town because he thought his best friend was having an affair with the girl that H took for granted. He’s so selfish he doesn’t think he can make it back for his own mother’s funeral. Poor you!

The heroine is a big fat idiot, a real clear thinker (written with sarcasm) for making his off page best friend take her on a date to make the idiot H jealous (BF has a brain and tried to talk her out of it) then keeping her sekret baby secret, involving his brother, then having friends with benefit sex with the H and getting pregnant AGAIN! She won't marry him because he only wants her for the baby. Then stop having babies with him, you fool.

The heroine's mother irritated me with her, "Let's all go hide in a closet and maybe the FATHER of your baby will go away." Get a clue.

Saltpeter or sterilization…STAT... before they reproduce again.

P.S. God help me if I ever write a book as the Gods of Reviewers will probably strike me dead.

This is the 2nd book in the series, and having read them out of order, it does shed a bit of light on book 4. I'm still having the hardest time with the characters and narrator.

Melissa and Cody are both stubborn and have huge issues with communication, which is my biggest pet peeve in books, especially when a child and/or pregnancy is involved.

I love a good cowboy story/series, but I just need to walk away from any more in this one. Good writing and entertaining storyline, but I need MC's I don't want to strangle the entire time.

Melissa and Cody

I enjoyed this book about a young couple who were in love but wouldn't admit it to each other. It kept them apart.

A Needed Second Chance

Melissa and Cody were high school sweethearts, until Melissa wanted to make Cody jealous. She wanted to have Cody find in the arms of his best friend. But, her plan backfired and Cody left town. Soon after Melissa found out she was pregnant with Cody's child. Almost two years later Cody received a phone call that his mother had died, so he returned home. Read this intriguing book to find out if Melissa and Cody get their happily ever after.

Cody is called home from where he has been hiding out for several months. When home he does t want to run into Melissa. He still believes she betrayed him.

When he finds out he has a child all bets are off as to getting Melissa back in his life.

I love Melissa. She was no pushover and didn't let Cody charm her. She held her ground strongly! I love a feisty woman that won't let a man steam roll her!

Another great book in this series!

I really enjoyed the struggles that Cody went through trying to come to terms with finding out he was a father and that his ex girlfriend Melissa just maybe didn't cheat on him after all. It certainly was an eventful trip from returning to find he had a child and getting his ex to marry him. I feel like part of the family now.

Melissa made a mistake trying to get Cody to admit he loved her. Cody has come back home to the family ranch.

Imagine his shock to learn he is a dad. He will do anything to show Melissa he has changed and loves her and their daughter.

I think I have had too many thoughts and seen too many shows lately, but I was frustrated with the way he tried to win her back.

What an overbearing jerk. I’m tired of a kiss turning a woman to mush. I liked Melissa, though.

After being away from home for a year and half tragedy will bring Cody Adams back home. He vowed he would never return as long as Melissa Horton was there. But he discovers that he is a father to a little girl. He is determined to marry Melissa and make them a family. Melissa is just as determined not to marry Cody and experience heartbreak when and if he decides to leave again. These two are headstrong and each is determined to have things their way. Cody and Melissa will have to come to terms if they want to ever become a family. Drastic times call for drastic measures.

Kind of Predictable

This story is kind of predictable and yet the characters can get to you. A couple of twists and turns at the end
