Four stars because it's about Monk--not because it's well-written.

I really wanna read the newly published bio by Kelley, but don't want to spend the $, so will settle for this at present. This is reasonably good, but doesn't have very much bio info (lots of writing on extant recordings).

I think it may have lost something in the translation from German to English. Nothing new or surprising. It does contain a decent discography.
