Every page of "The Heart's Desire" offers wisdom. In the first half, James Houston identifies the falsity of the modern, irreligious condition and in the second he guides readers to a deeper understanding of God, taking into account not just our intellect but our emotions as well. Along the way he uses a variety of thinkers, writers and stories to help illustrate his points.
