Await peaceful dawn
Let troubled soul endure on!

Lines from from the poem “peaceful”

I found this book to be a good read, especially for women, as it touches on different perspectives on womanhood. I also like the fact that the poet has written a poem related to miscarriage, which is a very touchy topic for each woman, and she has also described the pain, so she took us on an entire journey of how she just overcame all of the challenges. It’s a must-read.

Beautiful

What do I look for in a poem? Besides theme, sound and rhythm, imagery, mood, and emotions are important to me.

If it’s from the author’s own experience, I can’t fathom what pain she went through in writing this collection of poetry. Yet my mouth crinkled up when I read the following: “She’s always been looked down at. She’s always been told she’s not good enough… But she’s one always striving at all her dreams and goals…”

I enjoyed the poetry. So much of it can relate to many women and their situations—hope, resilience, motivation, resilience, enduring pain, and survival. Resilient Rose is a book anyone would appreciate as they overcome challenges or heal from a painful time.

Showing the Resilience of the Poet

The poems are varied in this book, some being freestyle and sometimes rhyming. It all has rhythm. Sometimes grammar is sacrificed for the sake of rhyme in "Resilient Rose," and most of the time it works. There are some poems that may be triggering, being about suicide and miscarriages. However, that is the poets life and they show her resilience. I recommend this work to poetry lovers and to people who like reading about strong women.

Poems are not my usual genre, but I wanted to step out of my usual reading; and I don’t regret my choice. The author has a gift with words and fills the pages beautifully with them.

If I had to choose my favourites—Mis Understand and Own Motivation would be on the top step of the podium.

Carry on writing Ms. Rose!

Resilient Rose is a book of poems that is clearly deeply personal to the author. The poet has tried, through this book, to try and connect the feelings she has felt with the feelings of the reader. There is a lot of it that works, and the poet's pain comes through on the page. Unfortunately, a lot of the time, I do not feel that it has worked. The uneven rhyme scheme and certain word choices are often jarring, and as a result of which I'm distracted from the poem or what it's trying to say. I would recommend another round of editing, and some revisions to the word choices, and it can be a really wonderful book.

A great read!

I don't normally like reading poetry but something about this book drew me in and had to give it a chance. Each piece of poetry told you something about Resilient Rose and her story. I particularly liked the pieces mis-understood, wounded, and survivor. Keep up the great writing.

I really liked the emotion and the journey throughout this collection of poems but I had a hard time with some of the technicalities. I don't have a huge preference for rhyme and meter vs a more free form style, but there were times that the poems seemed to have a set scheme but it didn't continue throughout and made the reading feel unbalanced. Maybe that was on purpose to deal with some of the heavy topics, but it pulled me out of the rhythm too much.

I think my favorite was Smile as it held a lot of hope. I also remember liking one called Rose, but there were a few with that title (as well as other duplicate/extremely similar titles) that made it hard to flip back to favorites a second time.

Loved this collection! Some are short, some are deeper. The journey through life is obvious with its up and down swings. A lot of pain and loss. Times of strength. All the poems are emotional and pulling. I felt awful that the author had to deal with the self-doubt and hate but it's life and she was a strong woman because of it.

Trust was one of my favorites. So true!

I am empowered

Resilient poetry that enabled me to feel, process, and move on. Female-centric poems that focus on overcoming naysayers, betrayers, and false sayers. Many of the poems resonated with me. I especially enjoyed “Inkless Poem.” It made me consider that who I am can be poetic.

This collection of poetry really does live up to it's name. The photos in this book is really catching to the eye. They actually match each of the poetry. It give me a lot of ideas of what I can do for future poetry books.

Amazing Messages

What a powerful way to convey so many emotions. Touching so deeply and delicately on matters that so many of us battle with, and rarely discuss. Such an amazing read. Can't wait to read more from this amazing author.
