Roger Hargreaves was a British cartoonist, illustrator and writer of children's books. He created the Mr. Men series, Little Miss series and Timbuctoo series, intended for young readers. The simple and humorous stories, with bold, brightly coloured illustrations, have sales of more than 85 million copies worldwide in 20 languages.
Whilst Little Miss Fickles personality trait is that she continually struggles to make up her mind initially seems annoying as she visits a restaurant, a hat shop and a butchers. She soon becomes a very reliable character when visiting the library as there's just so much choice.
Whilst I've not spent three days deciding which book to get, we all know that feeling of finding that right one!
Another enjoyable entry in the continually popular series.
Ah, Mr Men and Little Miss, how wonderful you are!
These books made up so much of my childhood. No matter what I would go ahead and pick one up. I worked my way through them all a couple of times. Each one has a wonderful story for the child to engage with, each character being fun to read.
Everyone has a bias for their favourite character, yet every book is delightful.
I absolutely loved these Mr Men and Little Miss books. I remember getting them from my granny every week. There was so much from these simple characters, I remember filling my little bookshelf with all these books making sure I had got them all in right order. I wish I still had these books but somehow most of them got lost with many house moves or my mum gave the rest away. If I ever have kids, I will make sure they get the chance to experience these wonderful, colourful books.
I did not like this book because I do not like not to make up my mind. I also did not like this book because Little Miss Fickle did not like to make up her mind.
Little miss fickle is just one of those people who can’t even make up their mind. She would say on the other hand on the other and in the pictures there were question marks around her
A bit of a rant here, but seriously I have to bang on about something with this being book number #24 in the series (despite whatever number Goodreads has) but ranting away, this is little miss, they are over the top, silly stories with basic but glorious cartoon like drawings, and the ever presence of Walter the worm, they are not War and Peace, the amount of reviews that bang on about how it fell short in this way or that way leave me flummoxed! Anyway rant over just enjoy them because of what they are or alternatively don't and don't read them, but don't over intellectualise them! Little Miss #24 Found a copy in a clean up of things and re-read it - same opinion as in days of yore!
The illustrations are bright and colorful and would be appealing to young children. They are not phenomenally beautiful and are probably not intended to be so.
I first read this book when I was older. If I had first read it when I was younger it probably would have appealed to me more. Although I think that even when I was younger, I don't think that I would have absolutely loved it.
