Magic Lessons
Magic Lessons is a fantasy novel.
After being driven from her home by an army of trolls commanded by wraiths, Princess Shadowalker Wraithkiller encounters an Elven mage named Greyhawk who agrees to teach her magic and help her free her kingdom. Just as their lessons get underway, Shadowalker is kidnapped by Silvertongue, the most powerful human mage in recorded history. When Silvertongue fails to convince her to form an alliance with him against Greyhawk, he abandons her in the desert. Shadowalker is rescued from certain death by a race of humanoid cats with a completely different approach to magic than the one taught to her by either Clearheart or Greyhawk. Unfortunately, just as she recovers from Silvertongue's torture, she accidentally releases an ancient weapon that causes one of their children to vanish and wounds the child's mother.
Meanwhile, deep in the background Ravenwing, Queen of Crystal Shores, aligns herself temporarily with Silvertongue in order to exact revenge on her former lover, Greyhawk. Together, they plot to use Shadowalker to draw Greyhawk into direct conflict, but things do not quite work out the way they plan as complication piles upon complication until no one is sure who is winning this epic clash of powerful personalities and who is losing.
