Reckless by Terri Pray
Paranormal Werewolf Romance- June 30th, 2009

Megan is a werewolf with a problem. Ever since she was young, the alpha wolf Shaun has been trying to claim her as his mate, isolating her from the rest of the pack. Sure, he is HOT and Megan is flattered but a girl likes to have choices and freedom. So Megan left the pack to pursue her own independence. However, now she is back but only short term to help her sister Ella.
Shaun has plans of his own. He has waited patiently for Megan’s return and doesn’t intend to let her go again. Even if he has to seduce her.
But this Megan never intends on returning to the pack again. Although Megan is attracted to Shaun him she doesn’t want that part of pack life and makes it clear she is leaving again and this time forever. She resents having to change her life for him and feels trapped. Why can’t he change for her?
The scenes with Megan and Shaun are very sexy I loved how the author spent time with the 2 main characters as werewolves and showed their animal nature. I especially loved the section on shifting. Many of werewolf books don’t describe the feel of being a wolf and it seems that the characters are simply just stronger humans. In this novel I could feel how the characters were werewolves and it was a fascinating read.
Terry Pray also spends time explaining the 2 main characters motivations. I especially enjoyed the spunkiness of Megan’s personality. From the first sentence I could relate with her. Megan is an interesting character with depth and emotion. She has a purpose and it doesn’t involve Shaun, she has a separate life that drives her. Pack isn’t important to her. She doesn’t want to be alone but she also doesn’t want the responsibilities of being Shaun’s mate. Megan cherishes her freedom and a life of her own. She doesn’t’ want to be the only one forced to give up her dreams.
Shaun is the Alpha male. Shaun’s determination to have Megan was thrilling but he is also able to reveal his vulnerable side to her. Sexy and dominant but he still respects Megan even as her pursues her into seeing his way. He doesn’t enjoy being the alpha and its responsibilities either. He has sacrificed years for the pack and is angry they don’t respect his choice for mate.
I hope the author continues her storyline. I would love to read more about Simon and Ella and how they will make a difference in the pack. This was a short but complex story with: intrigue, traitors, and power struggle. You will not be disappointed. Strong characters, hot sex and a twisting plot make this story one that will keep you enthralled!
