There's an Alien Down My Chimney

Rate this book
Santa crashed into my chimney, no wait… It’s not Santa, but a sexy alien with antlers.

Stella

I am resolved to celebrate Christmas one last time in my grandfather’s cabin before the government takes my home and my land from me. What I didn’t expect, was a visitor, barging in via my freaking chimney.

He’s big, he’s got a tail, antlers, and glowing red eyes. I should be scared, but all I want to do is climb all over him. And since he broke my fireplace… What else is there to do?

Throw some shadowy government goons in the mix who seem to be hunting for him, and my Christmas is turning into the greatest Christmas of them all. I’m just not sure I’m going to live to tell the tale.

Ru’ol

As a salvage worker, I’ve seen some crazy things, but this latest find turns my world upside down, sending me through time and space. At first, I think I’m dead, but the rapidly approaching blue planet looks too real for that.

Forced to evacuate my ship, I end up crashing into a tiny cabin roof. When I wake up, the last thing I expect is a spicy, beautiful spitfire standing over me, trying to yank me from a chimney.

I need to get home, and with agents on my tail, my ship in their hands, and no sure way to get back… I have plenty of time for a steamy affair with the feisty human.

There’s an Alien Down My Chimney is a full-length standalone Christmas-themed steamy sci-fi romance featuring one quirky, wounded alien ex-soldier, an ex-fighter pilot with a sentimental streak, and government agents on the chase.

Oh horrifying covers, how you seduce me.

Welp fast forward to a 30% DNF. This was boring and unoriginal, I just dnf’d almost the same book two days ago. I don’t even have any funny rants for you today, this was mind numbing and basic. It’s sad that the horror on the cover is the most entertaining part of this beige nothing story.

December CURSED BOOK CLUB REVIEWWWW!

So disappointed in this book. I think it really had the potential to be so cursed and funny. The writing was weird, the alien was kinda bland, and I just overall wasn't entertained. I read the book on the day before book club because I wasn't interested in it. Just unfortunately didn't hit the spot for me in terms of cursed/funny books 🤷‍♀️

An Alien for Christmas . . .

Ru’ol is an alien who salvages items found in space. But this time, he ends up getting transported somewhere and is stuck in someone’s chimney. Stella is having Christmas alone when she spots Ru’ol, a large creature with a tail, antlers, solid muscles, and glowing red eyes! She sets to work trying to yank the big guy out of her chimney. With the government chasing after him, she tries to make the best of their situation.

With the humans having taken his ship and the means for transporting him out of there, he is stuck here for now. Can he get his ship back? Can he keep himself away from Stella when he already feels an attraction to her? Unable to communicate, how will they keep busy as they learn about each other from their interactions? Is it too soon to think about a relationship or maybe even a future together?

A heartfelt and feel-good Xmas special.
Ru’ol is on his way to retrieve an artifact and in achieving that he travels through space and time and lands inside the chimney of fiery Stella.
Stella is an ex Air Force Pilot and prepares for a cozy Christmas in her late grandfather’s cabin. The sketchy government wants to evict her of her isolated cabin and Ru’ol happens to be a great ally to have.
Ru’ol and Stella’s chemistry is very evident and the over all story is just like a nice Xmas present.

This story had me laughing so hard from the start of the story, I had tears running down my face. Stella and Ru’ol's story was funny, steamy, with a protective male, surprises and romance. The story flowed across the pages. I loved it, I know I will read again. The roof scene was great. I would say read this Christmas story. This book was amazing and I love Ru’ol and Stella’s story there was laugh out loud times, scary, dangerous, action, drama, aliens, government agents and so much more that keeps the reader turning the pages. Stella is at her grandfather’s cabin after his passing and want her first time alone to be just like it was when he was here was alive and his favorite drink was hot cocoa which she was making when something hit the cabin roof and she waits for it to come crashing down. Ru’ol is a Kertinal Alien male who left the Kertinillan military and is a scavenger in space and comes across something sending out a beeping sound that he goes to collect it he sends out his hooks and catches on to the cylinder with a blue light coming off it and just before he pulls it in the ship Raptor comes after him telling him it his prize but Yatzel is a bully and I hate bullies and just before anything happens a blue light takes over and I’m transported to another planet where I have to crash land so I aim for the lake and I eject myself from my seat straight into the air and land on a cabin. Meeting the human who pulls me from her chimney is so beautiful I can’t take my eyes of her but when she goes to slips off the roof I save her and we land in the show with her on top of me and the pull to be near each other is overwhelming. Everything is getting hotter between them when two government agents turn up on her doorsteps threatening to remove her if she won’t leave because they want the land she owns. Ru’ol is furious with these men and when they learn they have his ship and the artifact that can get him home they make plans to get it all back but Stella doesn’t want him to leave without him so she makes plans to go with him wherever that may be because she loves him. How does it all work out in the end do they get Ru’ol’sship and the artifact back and does he take Stella with him if they succeed and where will the live. Great book.

Ru’ol, the male alien lead, is a salvage operator in space. Having located a particularly interesting piece of salvage material, he’s attempting to pull it on board when another being attempts to steal it. As he escapes, he finds himself transported to another location, crashing onto a planet and finally landing on a roof.

Stella, the female human lead, is enjoying what will be the last Christmas in her late grandfather’s cabin in the woods (because the government is forcibly acquiring it). When she finds an alien stuck in her chimney, she’s more than a little flustered because she’s never seen one and can’t understand him.

Then Ru’ol realises that he has travelled through time as well as space. And humans have confiscated both his ship and the item that enabled the transportation. Now he needs to get both back, as well as resisting the attraction to Stella…

This story is dual POV, well written, and an interesting, steamy romance that is in the same world as the author’s Gladiators of the Vagabond series but unconnected. I enjoyed the first contact awkwardness between Stella and Ru’ol, and their careful negotiating of their interactions. I enjoyed Stella’s fierceness and her determination to make her own choices, even when they were limited. I enjoyed Ru’ol’s protectiveness and his care for Stella. I enjoyed their intimate interactions and the final interdependency that created a relationship that was good for them both.

This was SO CUTE. Robin O’ Connor always manages to tell a great story, but this was, admittedly, adorable.

Ru’ol is a salvage collector, an ex-Kertinillian soldier who wanders through space to collect what he can. On a routine trip, he finds a mysterious artifact and in the process of escaping another collector, ends up in a different solar system, in a different time, and in somebody’s chimney. Stella hadn’t expected an alien to fall into her lap (almost literally), but once the two meet, the attraction is undeniable. Soon, sizzling looks are not enough and despite their growing feelings for each other, one question keeps coming up - how could it possibly work between an alien and a human from two different times and places?

This was such a fun read. I’ve been a fan of Robin O’ Connor’s novels for a while now - love the Gladiators of Vagabond series – and I was happy to see this was no exception. Yes, there were definitely aspects of insta-love, but it works here. I quite like Ru’ol and while he was created to look terrifying, he was so sweet, not to mention he definitely won brownie points for loving hot cocoa. The romance was sweet and I definitely giggled, and laughed my way through some of the interactions between Stella and Ru’ol. A lovely (and steamy!) afternoon read for those chilly winter days!

Thank you StoryOrigin and Robin O’ Connor for my copy! I received an ARC of this novel and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

There’s an Alien Down My Chimney by Robin O’Connor

What a fun escape this book was and a wonderful way to spend the day! The Gladiators of the Vagabond introduced me to this wonderful author and every book she writes has been a delight!

What I liked:
* Ru’ol: ex-military Kertinall scavenger, lost someone important to him, hates bullies, ends up on a wild ride that lands him unexpectedly on Earth where he meets Stella
* Stella: ex-air force pilot, in the mountains at her grandfather’s cabin for Christmas, being hustled and hassled by goons who want her property, rather taken with Ru’ol and his unexpected visit
* The play on and into the holidays
* The instant attraction between Ru’ol and Stella – I think aliens must exude hotness and ooze pheromones
* Stella’s friends that were there for her when she needed them
* The fun escape and HEA
* Thinking about the ‘what ifs’
* All of it really except…

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* Knowing that bullies exist everywhere

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more by this author? Definitely

Thank you to the author and StoryOrigin for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Another great (steamy) sci-fi romance from Robin O'Connor. This book is a stand alone, related to, but not involved with her other series about the Gladiators of the Vagabond.

Although there are no alien gladiators in this one, there is an alien male (Ru'ol) who crash lands on Earth: head first into the chimney of a human female's (Stella) cozy cabin. She just happens to live next door to a super secret, super dangerous government base... Where Ru'ol's spaceship happens to be kept now. So.....

Written from the point of view from both the female and male characters, to better understand both of their thoughts and feelings as they navigate their budding relationship through their instant attraction to each other. The story is full of action and adventure as well as the steamy romance. First with Ru'ol's initial situation at the beginning of the book, followed by his crash landing, but it continues with the rescuing of his spaceship and ensuing escape.

Another one of Robin's books I had a hard time setting down. Can't wait until her next book. Highly recommend.

I loved this book. It was such a fun holiday read. Great world building and wonderful characters. Stella was celebrating her last Christmas in her grandfather's cabin alone when something crashed into the chimney. A mysterious object sent Ru'ol crashing through space and to Earth where he ejected from his ship only to crash into the cabin. I loved that Ru'ol thought all the festive Christmas decorations in the cabin identified it as a holy place and that Santa must be a god. Stella was pretty easygoing discovering the existence of aliens, and I liked how comfortable they were with each other- the mutual attraction helped. This was a fun fast-paced read. Another great book by this author. 5 stars.

4.5 stars.

I decided to try something different reading this book and I am so glad I did as I enjoyed reading it so much. I loved the playfulness to the story, the strengths and vulnerabilities shown by both Stella and Ru and the connection they had. I thought the story flowed well and mixed sci-fi, romance, Christmas, friends, grief, self esteem, time travel and mystery well. Even though they were from different worlds, I believed in their connection and chemistry and that they had a future together. My attention was held from start to finish.

I simply adored reading this story, I love when there are two points of view of the main characters when you’re reading a story. I love how both characters tell how they are experiencing the situation at the time. I love how Ru'ol is both a protective grumpy bear and a big teddy bear as well. Stella is the main female character who is quite surprised when an alien lands in the chimney of the cabin that was her grandfather‘s. It’s quite steamy and quite entertaining and I thoroughly recommend it to those who enjoy this type of book.

Ru literally drops into Stella's life just before Christmas. Best present ever!

Stella is an ex fighter pilot trying to enjoy peace and quiet in her late grandfather's cabin in the wilds. Also attempting to decide what to do with her life. Ru, an alien salvage hunter from the future crash lands in the lake near her cabin.

And so begins their adventure to retrieve his space craft from nefarious shadowy government types.

Full on, page turning adventure with a lovely helping of sweet steamy romance.

Wonderful festive action packed alien love story.

Stella (h) decorates her late grandfather’s one last time before it’s sieved by the government. Ru’ol (H), a salvage pilot, picks up a mysterious object with his spaceship and is transported to through space and time only to auto eject and land on Stella’s roof. She takes the injured alien into her home and as the two spend time together, things heat up between the two. Hot and steamy alien romantic Christmastime quickie with lots of action and adventure as Stella tries to help Ru’ol avoid the authorities and reunite him with his spaceship. Some violence, communication issues, cultural misunderstandings, laughs. Holiday heat with humor. Must love cocoa.

Have an action-adventure Christmas. Robin O'Connor's There's An Alien Down My Chimney is a 194-page time travel alien romance story. It has a sweet romance story fit into an alien action adventure story.
The characters are well developed. The action and tension are just enough, not so much as to give the ready angst.
The reason a star was subtracted is, like all of Ms. O'Connor's books, this one is riddled with incorrect word choices, poor grammar and very poor proofing.
Even with the poor editing I continue to read her stories because Ms. O'Connor is such a good storyteller. I liked it so much I bought it. I do recommend this book.

Stella is spending her last Christmas at her grandfather’s cabin. She is being forced to sell it. Suddenly there is such a clatter on the roof. When, what to her wondering eyes should appear, an alien with antlers stuck in her chimney.
Ru’ol was on a mission when things went awry. He crashed landed on Earth. He ejected and finds himself stuck in a chimney. A gorgeous woman rescues him. She helps him hide out in her cabin. The attraction is sizzling.
Good Christmas read.

This book was entertaining and engaging from the very beginning. It was easy to read, with well constructed characters and good world building. Robin O'Connor knows how to create cool and believable aliens in action-packed stories. I really like Ru, Stella and her friend Pike. Ru is a time travelling alien who accidentally finds himself on Earth at Christmastime, in what is the past for him, but our present. He and Stella have to deal with a threat, as their relationship grows. A fun adventure!

So, Ho, Hooooo Good!

There’s an Alien Down My Chimney is a fun holiday tail… Tale! About a lost alien who has crashed landed on Earth and right into a lonely woman’s chimney!

This is an entertaining Christmas romance with lots of action, suspense and humor. Although it can be read as a standalone book this takes place in the same universe as Robin O’Connor’s Gladiators of the Vagabond series and there is even a cameo of one of my favorite gladiators and his mate!

I highly recommend There’s an Alien Down My Chimney as a fantastic addition to the Gladiators of the Vagabond series!

Their relationship was adorable and soo sweet.

I must admit, their first meeting was strange, I mean it’s not every day an alien crashes on your roof and gets stuck in your chimney. Their attraction to each other is through the roof and never lags. The same can be said about the danger and action they face. It definitely keeps your attention from start to finish.

Well written

This was a very well written book with plenty of action. Often times, holiday books are short and cutesy, and while Ru is a complete cinnamon roll (cup of cocoa?) he is also a hard nosed fighter. Stella is also a great mix of tough and sweet. Robin O'Connor really does a good job.

This just wasn't it for me. I dnfed at 44%. Started out great with him discovering Christmas and it had some cute moments. I was enjoying the characters but I found that I have no interest in the story. I'm good with insta lust sometimes but homegirl finds an alien who looks like a demon stuck in her chimney and she has 0 fear or questions?

The story itself was loads of fun but JFC, the punctuation was a nightmare! I’ve never seen so many run-on sentences, save in poorly-captioned 1950’s Japanese sci-fi movies. So many weird commas running barely-related sentence fragments together… Yikes.

Hire a legit editor—and a tutor to bone up on basic writing skills—and this would’ve rated a strong 4 stars or better.

Fast paced fun story

This is my first book by Robin, but it won’t be the last. I loved that Ru was a developed complicated character. usually alien males are that come to earth are real vague compared to the human female. Stella had great friends who could use some alien magic too. Hint hint!
