The World Record Paper Airplane Book

Rate this book
It’s the classic, world’s bestselling paper airplane book, grounded in the aerodynamics of paper and abounding with fun. The World Record Paper Airplane Book raises paper airplane making to a unique, unexpected art. This new edition boasts four brand-new models: Stiletto , Spitfire , Galactica , and Sting Ray . Added to its hangar of proven fliers—including Valkyrie , Hammerhead , Vortex , Condor , Pterodactyl , and, of course, the famous World Record Paper Airplane —that makes twenty airworthy designs. Each is swathed in all-new, attention-grabbing graphics and is ready to tear out, fold, and fly. There are at least five models for each design and all-important instructions for how to adjust and throw each plane for best flight.

But the planes are just the beginning. The book features tons of cool information on aerodynamics, competitions, and designing your own high-performing models. Readers will learn why paper airplanes fly (and why they crash), the history of Ken Blackburn’s world record, and how to organize and win contests. Also included is a flight log and pull-out runway for practicing accuracy.

Ok I will admit I have been slacking recently and not feeling too great so here I am trying to set the records straight. First up this book. It follows the well used idea of giving you designs and instructions in (wait for it..) making record breaking paper aeroplanes. The book is well written and informative with information on how to tweak the build, setting up competitions and little snippets of facts such as work records and how something actually works (look up the Vortex)
The only down side is that half the book are printed designs for cutting up and building - and there is my problem with this and all the rest of them. Once you want to build them the book is effectively ruined and cannot be used again - and apart from every fibre of my body screaming NO! when I am to cut pages out there is the fact that what if I want to go back and have another go there are no more pages to use. I wish they could set the designs on the web so you can download and print them off after all who does not have a printer theses days but hey thats jus me still a fun read that distracted me for a few minutes.

Paper Air Plane Book is the perfect book for any child who enjoys making and flying paper planes. The illustrations will teach how to make different styles of paper planes. In the back of the book are cut-outs that can be made into planes.

Readers will learn why paper planes fly and crash; the art of flying in circles, loops, dives and tail slides. There is even a section on how to maintain a flight log.

Paper air plane fans of all ages will have fun with Paper Air Plane Book.

A lot of fun to do with some kids! It has really difficult planes, to super easy planes, and it even teaches a little physics too.
