Welcome to the interior of the male gaze, with photos. It is in fact a lovely book, with some nicely appropriated quotes. But I couldn't help feeling slightly compromised, as if I had joined Malanga scanning the surfaces of women's bodies. I am sure that was his intention.

One seriously not-so-serious criticism: I cringed the third time he used the word "maillot" and then I cringed a dozen more times. What is with that word? What is wrong with "bathing suit"?

when picking up random books of poetry that look interesting because of their form goes wrong ... was intrigued bcus of malanga's relationship/collaborations w warhol , but this collection borders on paedophilia and is p unlikeable . no thx
