The books in this series contain beautiful illustrations, high-frequency words, patterned language, and rhyme. They are sure to become bedtime favourites for children and adults alike.
After a spaceship lands in Pete’s yard on Earth, a little alien named Zub asks him for help fixing his broken spaceship. Pete helps out Zub but pushes the button while he is still in the spaceship sending them both to Zub’s planet, Planet Fub. After eating a meal with Zub’s family and getting some help from Zub’s mom, Pete is able to get back to his mom on Earth.
I enjoyed reading this book and I thought the illustrations were so fun and cute. I would recommend this book to children ages 4-8 who love a silly adventure.
For a science fiction book, I would say there is somewhat diverse characters if you count aliens as diversity. Other than that, it didn’t have any diverse characters.
Teatime in Space is about an alien. The alien crash lands on earth and meets a boy named Pete. They met because the alien crash landed in Pete’s backyard. While they are in space, they have some spaceship problems. Pete helps the aliens fix their spaceship problems.
I enjoyed this book. It is a great book to read, and I like the message behind it with helping others. Pete helped the aliens and was very kind to them.
I would recommend this to 6-8-year old's who enjoy comedy. This book had a sort of comedy sense to it.
Copyright Date: 2008 Genre: Science Fiction Theme: Friendship, Outer space, Aliens My favorite part is when the little alien Zub landed on Earth and Pete helped him repair the spaceship. I also liked when Pete went and explored space. This is a great fun book to read in my classroom. It is imaginative and will keep the children entertained.
Published in 2008 Silly science fiction about a boy helping fix a spaceship when he then accidentally goes to space and almost misses his required tea time. I enjoy the pace and rhyme used within this book. I would use this book as a read-aloud within my classroom. A fun science fiction picture book to get students interested and enjoy the genre.
Teatime in Space by Caroline Castle is about an alien that crash lands on earth and brings a boy to space to have tea. The story has more of a comedy feel to it even though it's not a real funny story. The main characters go to space and have spaceship problems while having tea in space. What's not funny about that? Well, it's kind of boring even with the awesome plot. I don't think I would purposely read this book to a class or kids.
I love anything to do with space. I liked the drawings of the aliens and their alien food. Super predictable, but I think that's on purpose - has notes for parents and teachers in the back. Simple story.
Bright pictures, but the story did not really grab us. Found it a little bit hard to read out loud and it took me a little while to work out what Mumbo was, but this could have been influenced by the time I was reading it (too late).
