An excellent collection of slaveholders and owners confessions and letters, including deathbed confessions, where they lament the wrongness of slavery and worry over the eternal damnation they will suffer for having participated in the American South's Institution of Slavery. The South's 'peculiar institution' was no gift to Black Americans.
