The daughter of a town marshal, Linda Lael Miller is a #1 New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of more than 100 historical and contemporary novels, most of which reflect her love of the West. Raised in Northport, Washington, Linda pursued her wanderlust, living in London and Arizona and traveling the world before returning to the state of her birth to settle down on a spacious property outside Spokane.
Linda traces the birth of her writing career to the day when a Northport teacher told her that the stories she was writing were good, that she just might have a future in writing. Later, when she decided to write novels, she endured her share of rejection before she sold Fletcher’s Woman in 1983 to Pocket Books. Since then, Linda has successfully published historicals, contemporaries, paranormals, mysteries and thrillers before coming home, in a literal sense, and concentrating on novels with a Western flavor. For her devotion to her craft, the Romance Writers of America awarded her their prestigious Nora Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007.
Long a passionate Civil War buff, Linda has studied the era avidly for almost thirty years. She has read literally hundreds of books on the subject, explored numerous battlegrounds and made many visits to her favorite, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, where she has witnessed re-enactments of the legendary clash between North and South. Linda explores that turbulent time in The Yankee Widow, a May 7, 2019 MIRA Books hardcover, also available in digital and audiobook formats.
Dedicated to helping others, “The First Lady of the West” personally financed fifteen years of her Linda Lael Miller Scholarships for Women, which she awarded to women 25 years and older who were seeking to improve their lot in life through education. She anticipates that her next charitable endeavors will benefit four-legged critters.

I jumped right into this book after finishing the first book in the series. And then I spent most of my free time yesterday reading because this book was just as good - maybe even a little better - than the first book.

Montana Creeds: Dylan is the second book in the Montana Creeds series about the 3 Creed brothers (distant cousins of the McKettricks) who have been estranged for years. I wouldn't recommend reading this book as a standalone or the series out of order. The books are pretty heavily connected and need to be read in order for everything to make sense.

Dylan Creed hadn't ever planned to return to his hometown of Stillwater Springs for longer than a day visit - not after the fall-out with his brothers and then losing his girl. But now he's suddenly a full-time Dad after his ex-girlfriend dumps their daughter in Dylan's truck and runs. So Dylan does the only thing he can think to do - go home. He and his older brother Logan have made progress lately, and now he needs Logan's help to make sure he can keep his daughter.

One look at the girl he lost, though, and Dylan realizes he wants sweet, sexy librarian Kristy Madison back as well. Kristy tries to resist at first, but the love she still feels for Dylan, and his adorable daughter draws her to them. To make things more complicated, an old crime involving Kristy's father has come to light, and now somebody seems to have it out for Kristy. And Dylan will do whatever it takes to protect her.

I'm really enjoying this new series by Linda Lael Miller. It's got a little bit of everything - family, feuding, love, a smidge of suspense and mystery. And great characters.

In the last book, I thought the romance was a little understated, but in this one, the romance is much more prominent. There's a lot of time spent with Dylan and Kristy and I enjoyed reading about them. I thought Dylan's internal emotions could have been a little better conveyed, but overall, the romance of the book was very solid.

The sub-stories of the book - the revelation of a crime committed by Kristy's father, a body found, and some random acts of violence - give the story some variety. And like the first book, I found this one to be very readable with its smooth pacing and flow.

If I had to knitpick, there are two things: one being that in neither of the first two books have the ages of the characters been mentioned. You get a general idea, but no actual number. That, along with some other details, makes me feel at times like the timeline from past to present is a little off. And the second thing: my 2-year-old niece is very advanced, or Dylan's 2-year-old daughter in the book is a bit behind. The way little Bonnie was written made her seem more like a year old than two.

But those are knitpicky things. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this book. It's interesting to read about 3 brothers who are so at odds with each other but are now working things out. Both books 1 & 2 so far have just been very engaging and I look forward to reading the 3 books.

I am somewhat disappointed in these Creed brothers stories. They could be made so much more interesting, but these books are too much of a light read for me. I like the promise of their stories, but not how they come out on paper. I have read so much better stuff by L.L. Miller.

I'm sure this was a fine book. I skimmed it because I just don't like books where the hero and heroine are old lovers who broke up and then meet again years later. Sometimes I can read them if I'm in the right mood or if they are just phenomenal. This one he didn't really seem to love her so I just couldn't get into it. It also bothered me that she didn't have kids but wanted them and he had one with a floozie. I guess I felt too sorry for her.

Montana Creeds: Dylan by Linda Lael Miller is the second book in her Montana Creeds contemporary western romance series.

After his daughter Bonnie's mother abandons her in his truck, Dylan Creed heads home to the family ranch in Montana. Dylan is determined to keep custody of Bonnie and to do that he needs his older brother (and lawyer) Logan's help, although he and Logan aren't on the best of terms right now. Back in town, Dylan also rekindles an old romance with Kristy Madison, the town librarian. Kristy loves both Dylan and Bonnie but worries what's going to happen when Bonnie's mother is back in the picture -- or Dylan gets restless again. Plus, Kristy finds herself in the middle of a lot of people with a lot of secrets -- secrets worth killing for ...

As you've probably guessed by now, I'm going on something of a glom of Miller's books. What can I say? I'm a sucker for westerns, and Miller is one of the authors writing them right now.

I was somewhat disappointed by the first book in this series, which focuses on Logan, but I liked Dylan's book a smidge better. There was definitely more romance in this one, and I thought the relationship between Dylan and Kristy was portrayed in a realistic way. They both have a lot of hurt on both sides, but they work through their issues together.

However, there's a suspense plot in this one involving a couple of murders that just didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the story all that well. Also, Dylan's daughter was a little too cutesy in places for me.

Overall, though, this is a decent read, and of course now that I'm two books in, I'll be finishing the trilogy.

Can I just say that Dylan is hot! I really liked this one. I enjoy the kind of book that you can relate to and have a hero that is strong, yet sensitive and responsable.

Dylan is an ExRodeo champion that had a daughter with a woman that he only spent a week with. Now the woman doesn't want the responsability any longer and dumps this helpless little girl off on Dylan. After leaving a poker game at a seedy casino he goes to his truck and finds his two year old daughter in the truck alone. He immediately takes responsability and heads for his home in Montana. His Ranch, his brother and his true love are there. He just needs to get everything on his side and things will be just fine.

Kristy is the town librarian that Dylan left years ago. she is lonely and in need of a life that includes a husband and family. When dylan shows up in town with his baby girl she is stunned, but is also drawn not only to Dylan but to htis small child.

Kristy's life gets really complicated when the local sherrif decides to dig up her horse and see if there is someone else buried there too. With all of this happening, Dylan and Kristy try to find each other and their love too.

Such a sweet little story. I enjoyed getting to know Dylan Creed and so thankful that Kristy is his forever. Bonnie was such a doll and even though her mom was a low life, I'm hoping she's no longer gonna be in the picture.

Single Dad becomes a full-time dad when the mother other of the child leaves her in the cab of his truck. Apparently she stayed close enough to keep tabs until he got to her, but then was off like a bullet afterwards.

I still have a stack of Creek related books at home to go through as part of my own person goal (to read all the books in my home before going to an outside source to get books).

Rating: R (language and sexual content)
Language: use of deity and totally NOT necessary
Recommend: Yes

Dylan Creek gets quite the surprise when he finds Bonnie, his 2-year-old daughter, has been left in his truck by her mother. So, he heads home to the Creed ranch in Stillwater Springs where he finds his brother Logan and Kristy Madison, his old girlfriend who is now the town librarian. There is a good mystery going on, some stalking, and a few come-to-Jesus moments that are done well enough to keep me entertained on my longer walks and drives. Good read!

Ok

3 Stars

I haven’t got much to say about this one as I didn’t like it as much as the previous book and I’m not sure why.

Dylan was ok but I didn’t really buy into the relationship between him and Kristy, it just felt like he was settling because he needed someone to look after Bonnie.

Kristy was a good female lead. I liked that she understood where she stood but still went after what she wanted. I just think she deserved more.

Dylan is still on the rodeo circuit and also working as a stunt man when he receives calls from his older brother Logan talking nonsense about rebuilding on the old homestead and putting up fences on his property. But it’s when a one-night stand can’t take being a mother any longer and leaves his two-year-old daughter Bonnie in his truck one night that he even seriously thinks about going home. Once he gets there and sees what Logan has in mind and finds out that his lost love is still unmarried, he realizes that home is exactly where he belongs.

Being the town librarian isn’t the fanciest job in town, but Kristy Madison is happy with her life. Or is she? She’s suffered so many losses in the last few years, including the family ranch, but what else is she to do. When Dylan shows up on her doorstep, wanting to reacquaint himself with her in every way, she can’t resist him or his daughter. They have a lot to get straight between them before a relationship will really work, but when it’s so good between them in bed, the talking isn’t far behind.

Dylan makes a terrific father and the scenes with his daughter are lovely. I liked the slow way Ms. Miller lets the brothers work out their differences and become a family again. Though they all have their separate problems when they come together, they learn quickly those problems can be solved when working together. And Dylan and Kristy’s situation is no different. There’s a hurtful past between them and it takes time and work to get through it all. But everything is worth it with a family waiting for them on the other side.

I just loved this story. Lael Miller brings the west, small towns, and strong knit communities together perfectly. Right from the start, i had strong feelings about one character, and i kept thinking, 'Let her be the bad guy!' I am only giving this book a 5 star, simply because i can't give it a 6 star.

Whew!! Another great one by Miller. Rodeo's bad Boy Dylan Creed gets the shock of his life when he leaves a Vegas gambling establishment. His daughter Bonnie, has been left in his truck by her mother. Okay Dylan needs to fess up and become a father so he heads home to Montana to the Creed ranch.

Left behind was Kristy Madison, who Dylan left in Stilwater Springs. She has continued to love Dylan no matter how many years have passed.

Another great one by Miller. How Kristy and Dylan reunite after so many years and for the god of Bonnie and their never ending love was a sweet story.

Next is Tyler's story and I am chomping at the bit to get it when it comes out in April

I enjoyed Kristy a lot more than I did Briana in the previous book, but sadly, I think that Dylan wasn't as interesting as Logan. Dylan and Kristy, as a couple, worked better for me, probably because of their past and the connection that was already established.

I might have contemplated 4 stars had the subplots been better fleshed out. Or at least as solid as the relationship. As it is, 3 stars.

Another good one. Dylan is back in town with her little girl, abandoned by her mother in a parking into Dylan's car.

He's back to his brother too. I love how Logan and Dylan are working together to be a family again.

And I love all those children and dogs.

Great. I'm currently reading 3rd story :)

Kisah misterinya bagus, walau penyelsaiannya kurang memuaskan. Bacaan ringan yang cocok menjadi teman bersantai.

Dylan & Kristy
I was looking for a cowboy story after listening to Rodeo by Garth Brooks. I discovered Linda Miller's Montana Creeds series. I had no major expectations, but I ended up enjoying this book so much. The story, romance, pacing, and characters were exactly what I was looking for. Dylan comes from a family of small town ranchers who have always lived in Still Water, Montana, working the land and living a pretty unassuming life. After years of rodeoing and gambling, he unexpectedly gains custody of his young daughter while in Vegas. Dylan knows he has no choice but to head back home to Montana. He goes back to his estranged family in a town he thought he left in the dust and the girl he could never forget or get over. Kristy is a small town girl who never left Still Water. She's the local librarian and is working to fill what's missing in her life...mostly a husband and family. She has tried to move on, but her heart will always belong to Dylan. When Dylan shows back up with a young daughter, Kristy is reluctantly drawn to the pair. They are everything she's wanted, but she's not sure if she can trust Dylan ever again.
Add in a bit of mystery and some likeable side characters and you have book 2 in this cowboy family romance. I will definitely be heading over to read book 1 since I started out of order.

The first book I've read in this series about 3 half-sibling brothers. The brothers grew up hard with an alcoholic father, each boy having a different mother. They had a knock-down drag out alcohol-fueled fight following their father's funeral, and for all intents and purposes they haven't seen each other since.
This is Dylan's story. Following his ex-one-week stands abandonment of his 2 year old daughter, Dylan decides to head home to raise her. After a life earning money on the rodeo circuit, being a movie stuntman, playing poker and playing the stock market, Dylan is not hurting for money (though certain individuals don't need to know that). But, his daughter needs a stable environment, more than he had and more than her mother is offering her. But, after a couple of days with Bonnie, he doesn't know that he's cut out to be a single dad, Bonnie needs a mother and the women who comes to mind is his childhood sweetheart, the women he left in a lurch, following his dad's funeral. Can she forgive him, let him back in her life, marry him and mother his daughter?

This is not one of my favorite books by LLM. It was actually boring in some places a snoozer.
A few things that turned me off - Frieda breaks into Kristy's house, Kristy doesn't call the sheriff and then finds that Frieda broke down a wall in one of her upstairs bedroom, really. Then later in the book Frieda comes back and that story that unfolded was a bit out there.
Years ago the sheriff, who's well liked by all and upstanding, helped his best friend bury a body that his friend murdered.
Kristy agrees to marry Dylan even though he's not sure he loves her and he tells her that it's partly because he needs a mother for his daughter. Can it get any worse?
Yep, Dylan pays Sharlene an outrageous amount of money to give up her legal rights to her daughter and then doubles the amount when Sharlene agrees to let Kristy adopt the little girl.
I am a big fan of LLM however this book was a huge disappointment.

Sayangnya our heroine kita which is Kristy terlalu cepat kembali ke pelukan Dylan yang mempunyai reputasi playboy juga nomaden.

Wowzer

I have no word for a woman who will give up her child for money, or in the case of what Dylan had to deal with a manipulating woman who didn’t want the kid but saw it as an easy paycheck from conception. Thank god Dylan went home to Stillwater Creek when the bad woman left her 2 yr old daughter in his truck behind a not safe part of Vegas. Dylan just didn’t realize how he had never settled down until he came home and crossed paths with his childhood sweetheart. Kristy and Dylan with little Bonnie make a good couple. There were a few other mysteries solved during the book but I won’t mention them and ruin the whole book.

Just know I am glad Dylan, Kristy and Bonnie are family and the woman named S-h-a-r-l-e-n-e will never be in their lives again.

This was a very good book of the type - a country romance that follows the lives of two people who eventually fall in love. Our MCs grew up together but went their separate ways. Now Dylan has his 2 year old daughter dumped on him by her no-good mother, and brings her back to Stillwater Springs, where Kristy is the local librarian. I thought this story had good pacing and the events that unfolded, including a cold-case murder, were pretty well done.

I grew up on a farm outside a very small town and sometimes I want to read books that remind me of home. Some of them are better than others, and this one was pretty good. I don't think you'd have to read the first one to enjoy this.

I enjoyed this a great deal. Dylan and Kristy are fascinating characters and this is a good 'second chance' romance. Dylan has loved the fast life of rodeo and high stakes poker when abruptly the brakes are applied when he ends up with custody of his two-year old daughter when her mother abandons her. Bonnie is a precious and precocious toddler who bring responsibility to his life. Kristy, who has always loved Dylan, even after he walked away from her. When he returns home with a daughter in tow, she can't help but love them both. There's a bit of a mystery in there as well which adds to the story.
Very well done.

This one was one of the better books from this author that I have read. Like the characters in the story line but again at times it drags on like the others but this one did kept me into it more. One of those things that I noticed this author does is not keep track of the events at times. For instance, the $20 million that Logan had sold his online company for went a long way. It seems they spent money as if he had at least $50 million. If you have a series or even just in a single book they should keep the sequence of events in order. This is a book, not a soap opera.
