There was way too much sex in this book. It had an interesting storyline and that was spoiled by very explicit, lurid descriptions. Too much for this senior lady, thank you very much. The parts that didn't involve sex acts were enjoyable enough.

It was an enjoyable and easy read. I liked it as an "in-between" book to recover from a suspense before going to another one. Good to throw in the beach bag!

light fluffy entertainment. hard to relate to such rich snooty people but the story line held my interest. a little too cliche and the sex scenes were a bit too detailed for my taste.

happily marries women onced again is saying oodbye to her husband so he can go on a long business trip. while he is away he dies of a heart attack at the home of his girlfriend and his daughter. at the reading of the will his wife finds out about his double life. she is going to contest the will which leaves his daughter and girlfriend money. her son takes off to amsterdam to meet his half sister. his mother and her friend follow them to amsterdam and they all meet face to face. the wife decides to give the girlfriend the money she is due. the mother remarries her friend and they decide to stay in contact with the girlfriend and the daughter.

This book had a strong, unique storyline. Usually when something is mentioned on the book cover, it happens early on in the story, but this event did not occur until almost halfway through the book. I found myself skimming over some of the sex scenes. There were too many sex scenes and they were very explicit. It was important to the plot that these characters were having sex, but I did not need to know every position they tried. Basically I enjoyed this book. Carolina was a strong character and the supporting characters were also interesting.

The back cover does not sell the book correctly. It talks about a woman recovering after the death of her husband. A quarter of the way through the book I was wondering why he hadn't died yet let alone he was hardly a character in the story. Fun light read. The characters thoughts being printed was distracting.

Now I know that "a great summer read" is lots of details of the brands of the rich and/or famous, sex scenes that I would have devoured when fifteen but are dreadfully boring, and a stolen plot (the other woman and child, discovered after the husband's death), mingled with some melodramatic machinations that have no convincing motivation that I could find. More or less skimmed.

When Carolina's husband dies, she finds she is not the only woman mourning his love. As she builds her flower/party-planning business, two children who look so much alike teach her to forgive, while handsome Seth teaches her to love again.
