REKINDLING CLAIRE (first published under the title LETTERS FROM DAVID), is a journey of miles and of a woman’s heart as she struggles to reinvent her life after losing her husband, her home, and her direction in life.
In the tradition of contemporary mainstream romance novels driven by letters, a Midwestern widow faces devastating changes in midlife and discovers the truths of life and love within the pages of letters. Struggling to reclaim her sense of self, and estranged from her children, she struggles to reinvent her life in a house by the sea and finds that the destination is manifested by the journey. She worries about her son, who serves in the military, and her estranged daughter, who lives in Paris.
Claire Mead has a terrible, dark secret weighing her down, but suddenly, she realizes she has something she never had before -- her freedom.
A Saturday Review for you.."Letter's From David" By Eve Paludan. This book is different , It's a story written around letters. Hand written letters! who does that anymore? Well in this Story we learn about an entire family, their heartaches, their fears, wants, needs and secrets that could destroy. And we learn about the Human spirit and what it takes to reinvent, to survive after horrific events. There is something in this book that will appeal to everyone, from the widow, Claire to her son, David the soldier in Afghanistan, a writer, Noah, a ghost, a medium. This book makes me want to find my inner self and send her soaring! We get to see thru everyone's eyes as they write to David and he writes back. Very Cleverly done in Ms. Paludan's Debut novel. My only regret is that I didn't see this book before now.. I don't know how it escaped my view .. I give this book 5 letters .. Love it!
