This book started off incredibly strong but dragged on quite a bit throughout. It felt a little repetitive at times, and wasn't particularly readable. Overall it could have been much shorter and the point still would've made it across. At the same time, the ideas were so strong that I feel obligated to give a good review. The good passages make up for the bad, and really stick with you. For those looking to understand precisely what psychological life is, I would recommend this book, especially if read in conjunction with other depth psychology literature. But don't expect the same clarity offered by other thinkers.

Well worth reading; returning to this book again and again. Each time I reread I experience finer shades.
