Sad, simple—and, at times, beautifully poetic. Odd that there is so much emphasis on the concept of this book being an erotic coming-of-tale. To me, it’s beyond that, even if the story is a simple telling of a young girl navigating life, love and family. There’s some truly lovely prose in this novel. How unfortunate that Schoonover seems forgotten in time.

Pretty easy read. A bit dramatic. A bit sad. Ending was a bit sudden too.
