Realize your innermost dreams and ambitions by turning up the volume on your intuition and re-connecting with your Inner Genius
We are all born with an inner spark of intuition—Buddhism calls it seeing Dhamma. Taoism calls it finding the way. But most of us in the Western world are socialized to prioritize external markers of success. Money, status, high powered careers—the pressure to perform superficially drowns out the inner voice. As a result, we barely know who we are and what we’re truly capable of.
The Karma of Success is the professional and personal success you will find once your internal world, your actions, and your values are in alignment. You’ll feel more confident, capable, and enjoy more success as you learn how to access your own inner voice, stop following the paths of others, and redefine achievement on your own terms.
Business coach, tech executive, Reiki healer, and spiritual leader Liz Tran will teach you the Four Pillars of Spiritual Strategy—inquiring inward, manifesting mindfully, enriching your energy, and becoming brilliant. You will also be guided by stories of business leaders, tech visionaries, and regular people who have learned how to access their intuition in order to unlock their full potential.
Drawing from ancient sources of wisdom including Zen Buddhism, the Tao, Reiki healing, astrology, and Vipassana meditation, The Karma of Success shows you how to slow down and look inward to find the meaning and success you are meant to have.
I think that this could have been a blog post. There are some good ideas, but definitely not enough to fill up a whole book, so a lot of it becomes repetitive. A lot of what the book has to say is also pretty baseline stuff, nothing too groundbreaking or memorable (eg. love yourself, protect your energy, there's no correct path in life). There's a bit too much focus on these broad, vaguely spiritual ideas, and repeatedly telling the reader how special/unique they are, but not much in terms of in-depth specific steps. At the end of each section I felt like I had just barely grazed the topic, moving on to the next section without that many actionable pieces of advice besides "just trust yourself" and "tune into your Inner Genius". This book also does not seem to have a clear focus of what it wants to be: is it about spirituality/buddhism, career help, or healing personal issues? If it wants to be all three, it does not address any of these issues in depth enough. For a book this short, there are also too many made up terms (Inner Genius, Becoming Brilliant, the Genius Truths, etc.). I have read self help books with terms like this before, but in my experience they are only helpful when they serve an important purpose throughout the whole book. Many of the terms in this book are not used very often or not necessary to understanding the concept she's trying to get across.
TL;DR I got a few good journal prompts out of this, but not much more.
I have been a listener of Liz Tran’s for a while now and went to the book launch/signing at the strand where I heard her read the “$2 coffee rich” chapter.
This is one of the first “self-help” type of books that has not felt redundant and feels attainable to apply to life. She recognizes that large changes do not happen overnight and encourages the reader to start small. I loved the part when she talks about her wanting to be a “better Buddhist” but was struggling with letting go of the “party lifestyle” and the person she asked how to change this and the response said “don’t worry so much, just keep practicing meditation and at some point the drinking and the going out with naturally drop out of your life until they eventually disappear” (pg 195-196). This reminded me of a time in my life when I was struggling between who I wanted to be verses who I was / was doing. I started listening to my “inner-genius” and noticed the habits I felt obligated/used to naturally drop out of my life because I no longer felt the obligation to maintain them.
Chapter 18 - the reverse golden rule was amazing.
Overall, really great read. It’s nice to read a book that highlights the lows as well as the highs of life

I made it to this book at the most perfect moment in my life, transitioning from full-time work in corporate creative doing a role adjacent / on path to the role and career that I sought to focusing my time and attention more holistically on my creative expression as an artist and filmmaker. After having listened to Reset by Liz Tran leading up to and over the course of my most transformative year, The Karma of Success capped off many of the lessons that Liz herself talked through in her podcast as well as provided tools and encouragement for applying those lessons to modern life. I find that many self-help books feel idealistic however The Karma of Success feels realistic; taking into account (and accepting) the uncertainties and ever changing nature of being human in this context. Liz is a modern day philosopher and I am so grateful to have access to her insight and perspective as I journey through my own life. I’d recommend The Karma of Success to anyone and everyone but especially those who know that they are built for more (by way of less) in their life. More focus, simplicity, and happiness.
This book is a must read for anyone looking to begin living life on their terms. It is a beautiful bridge between practical and spiritual – a great entry point for anyone desiring to connect more deeply to their intuition and learn more about practices like meditation, yoga, Reiki, journaling, astrology and more. Liz offers vulnerability and encouragement leaving me empowered to take these practices off of the pages and implement them into my life. I love how she offers journaling prompts and action steps for each concept and theme. Although I have been on a spiritual path for quite some time, this book offered potent reminders and encouragement to show up more fully in my life and live a life in accordance to my own dreams. This book would have helped me so much at the beginning of my journey and through any times of transition or doubting myself but it is good for any point in the game. Highly recommended!
A good self help book with a unique focus on intuition and the addition of other spiritual practices. Most of the information is pretty remedial, so if you read self help often, you might find it redundant. I did find this take on honing your inner genius and creating alignment within yourself to further your own happiness and success a little something different from the traditional books. I didn’t love Tran’s explanation of certain things like manifestation or agree with some of the things she asserted as truths, but there were other points I found helpful and worthwhile.
The audiobook narration was good. Tran narrated it herself and I liked the conversational tone she took on at times. Overall, a solid self help/spiritual book that I would recommend to those looking for something a little different.
*Thank you PRH Audio for the complimentary audiobook. This in no way affects my review.*
I couldn't get enough of this book. I love Liz's approach to honing and caring for your intuition and I appreciated the deeply personal stories she weaved throughout the book. Like her Reset podcast, she makes the path feel approachable and provides you with easy to understand goals, prompts and resources. The power to access your inner voice, intuition and redefine what success means to you is within your reach.
Liz has done the work and taken the time to hone her craft and it shows through her personal & professional successes shared in this book. I highly recommend Karma of Success for anyone who feels like the typical self help book doesn't resonate with them and may feel too rigid or generalized.
Karma of Success is thoughtful and thought provoking. I have already begun to implement some of the prompts and resources outlined in the book into my daily life and I look forward to continuing that journey.
I was so skeptical when I started this book. First of all, the title is..not great. Then pretty early on in the book, the author talks about numerology and astrology, which are not my cup of tea.
However, we quickly progressed to some really insightful questions and exercises. The author also talks about strategies to follow to improve your sense of self worth and really think about what is important in life. Although I finished reading this book, I'm still working my way through the exercises and it's been quite a revelation to learn more about myself and understand what drives me. It's a slow process with one step forward and many steps back to answer the one question - "why are you the way that you are?" :)
Great self improvement book. I enjoy how the book is structured in its teachings but also had a freeform storytelling feel. I appreciate the simple exercises provided at the end of each chapter to solidify the lesson. Teachings are focused and chapters are well illustrated. I found that a lot of the lessons are founded on principles of being empathetic, kind and loving to yourself. These simple principles are clearly laid out as a foundation to success in a manner that is achievable and empowering. This book has many great takeaways and I believe there is a lesson in here for everyone.
I have very mixed feelings about the book. It started off as an interesting read but then got somewhat confusing. It had a lot of conflicting messages. The author, on the one hand, a spiritual and successful woman; on the other hand, was spending a lot of her time with therapists, coaches etc. On the one hand, she says wealth is not important. On the other hand, she keeps emphasising how wealthy and successful her clients are… Well, the book did have some interesting insights, but overall I’m not sure who I could recommend it to.
Liz’s book is warm and expansive, and her gentle approach to honing into your intuition is a refreshing reprieve of more task-oriented self help books. Her podcast is a great resource for some of the subjects covered, and the book has thoughtful workshops sprinkled throughout that let’s you tap into your inner source. Such a big fan and will definitely purchasing for friends and family ⭐️
I always turned to the 'Reset by Liz Tran' podcast when I felt stuck in life and the book did not let me down. Although it is sort of supposed to be career-coded, I found most of it to be applicable and relevant to other areas of life and as such would still recommend it if you aren't super career focused.
I think it’s a good and logical delivery of life experienced revelations. And if taken seriously can really have a very strong impact on one’s life. Will be my personal goal to spread the information about this book to as much people as I can!
MUST READ. Perfect balance of theory (and graphs 🤍), relatable and memorable anecdotes, thoughtful provocations and concrete action points. Highly appreciate the combination of rigour, scientific theory, behavioural science and a more spiritual approach.
As a podcast listener of Tran’s work i was eager to read her work compiled in one place. Much of what she speaks of on the podcast is here, but was pleasant to read on a page. I will definitely keep this book as reference to help me reach my karma of success throughout my career.
Loved it! I’ve been listening to Liz’s podcast for years and have found her advice and thought process so effective, encouraging, and relatable :) was really impressed with her book and can’t wait for more!
Liz Tran is an incredible woman, writer, and leader. Her writing is perfectly vulnerable enough to be relatable, but also wise enough to be inspirational. I recommend this book to anyone who needs to be reminded of the beauty and wisdom that already lies within them!
If I could, I would give it more than 5 stars. It completely spoke to me as a small business owner who is also embracing a spiritual life. I always knew the two can be connected—and Liz proves it in her book.
Liz Tran is my role model and absolutely icon. I’ve been listening to her podcast since beginning of 2024 and her writing is also genius. Great book to read when wanting to learn more about finding and following your intuition
Read (rather listened to) for a book club! Don’t normally pick up books line this, but was helpful to hear things that I often think or say “I know” about. While I think easier said than done, helpful for the reminders to live authentically and trust oneself.
Great charts. But too detailed for me,I like a structure and clear points. Not the story thing for me.But that’s just my style.I love the authors strategy.
