Space: 1999 Survival

Rate this book
SURVIVAL is the third in Powys Media's new line of novels based on SPACE: 1999, the classic science fiction television series. In this novel, the Alphans encounter a damaged spacecraft drifting in space. Onboard are the last refugees of a destroyed world. The Alphans try to lend assistance, only to find that the one thing the aliens need to survive is Alpha itself. Koenig faces "a choice between life and death, in which humanity is a liability, ethics are expendable, war may be the only recourse, and survival must be won...at any cost."

Another strong entry in the Space: 1999 series, and raises some thoughtful points about the nature of life and relationships.

The third book in Powys Medias new Space 1999 books. If I recall correctly, this is also a rewrite and reprint of one of the old
Season 1 novelizations from back in the 1970's. Expanded and rewritten
into the Powys Media space 1999 continuity.

Its been ages since I read it (this version, its been Ages and Ages since I read the original back in the day) but I recall it as well written and the expansions are seamless and hint at things to come in the future of the series.

The Powys Continuity hints at some Mysterious Power having been behind the moons break from orbit, and certain events that are happening to the Moonbase alpha crew on their apparently random journey through the
universe. The Continuity also tries to find (and fix) the issues between the first and second series of the original tv show, the stark changes in uniform, tone, characters and things like what happened to Main Mission. So in this novel Tony Verdeschi is there, as is Victor Bergman, but not yet Maia. So this is a crossover novel between the seasons and hints LARGELY for future continuity (I think in particular BORN FOR ADVERSITY by Dave McIntre)

Lets face it, you HAVE to be a fan of the series to go after this book, and if you are (and your willing to pay 20 bucks through LuLu
for it) I think you will enjoy it.

Dear Powys Media, I like me some Space 1999, and I realize you probably payed an arm and a leg for the License, but 20.00 bucks per book (most in the 200 page range) is a bit much!
Oh and REPRINT the second Prisoner book damnit!
