This book is a treasure! I especially love the 31 day devotional format. The message of healing and freedom from issues of body image, beauty, aging and struggles with food resonates into other areas of life where we may have wandered away from becoming all that God has created us to be. This heart and soul based book speaks life and transformation into our strongholds to bring us to a place of hope and peace. The fresh perspectives on timeworn issues are simple, profound and brilliant all at the same time. A beautiful read that you will not want to miss.
Still Becoming takes a candid, caring look at why many women struggle with self-acceptance and the ability to truly live each day abundantly. Whether the struggle is with body image, food, or relationships, Laura's 31-day devotional book reaches to the core and offers a message of hope. This is a book I will be sharing with many!
Laura Acuna does a masterful job of weaving Scripture and stories to offer healing and hope to those of us who are wounded. As a person who also suffers from disordered eating, I found her words resonated strongly with my healing soul. I highly recommend her book to anyone affected by body shame, disordered thinking and eating, and hurtful pasts.
I didn't read the subtitle when I purchased this book. It is written for women who have been on the diet treadmill for many years. A lot of it didn't apply to me, but it was still a worthwhile read and gave me new things to think about.
Such a great perspective on why diets just don’t work but God’s grace healng and mercy are really what we need to be who He created us to be and live the life we were meant to!!!
So encouraging! Laura calls out the diet industry and helps the reader let go off body shaming and self-imposed guilt. She shows us how to love who we are and make healthy choices.
Ms. Acuna's devotional "Still Becoming" is for every woman who has ever struggled with weight and body image. Her strong message and apropos scripture are spot on. Her transparency of her own struggles is refreshing and encouraging at the same time! I love the journaling and "soul fitness" she includes for each day. Can't wait for more from this gifted woman of God!
