good poetry comes from being unapologetically vulnerable and j.r. rogue writes good poetry. this was airier than the last one but somehow more honest.

So many beautiful lines through this collection of poems. I found myself highlighting entire poems. Some speak to me more than others but the ones that speak to me hit so hard.

The way Jen captures emotions with her poetry is pure magic. She weaves us through emotions that for me surprises me, comforts me and calms me. The collection she has given us here is a brilliant burst of it all, I instantly felt like I was reading poems that I felt an instant connection with even without experience and to me that’s the greatest feeling. To have felt like I could be what those words are describing.

Poems for the Moon, Vol. 2 is one you will want to curl up and just soak up the power of it all.

I was lucky enough to receive a copy to review, and obviously, Jen has done it again. It’s so redundant to say a poet is poetic, but I can’t think of a better way to describe this collection. Her words come alive on these pages like there’s music woven through them just waiting for someone to hear it. These poems must have been unimaginably meaningful to those who received them because they stole my breath. “You came in with color...” *dreamy sigh* JR Rogue has magic in her hands- I am a huge fan of many other authors, but something about her work always, always calls to me. I read her work & just feel like me. Like I’ve been seen, like I can hope, like someone gets it. You know? To me, that’s what this collection is. Hope. Love. Dreams. 36/10 recommend.

a short, sweet, and beautiful collection!

When you’ve basically read the whole of a poets career you have a really good idea of who they are in your head. You’ve seen the saddest and happiest (and lustiest) sides of them. All that writing comes from such a personal place. With a collection like this, comprised of poems for other people you really see just how talented the poet is. It’s maybe easy to write from your own sadness and triumphs, but I think probably hard to write for another. But each poem is strong in this one!

Each poem in this collection is a little story about someone else’s life. And the majority are such happy hopeful vignettes.

J.R. Rogue has a way with words that few others have. She can weave her poetry into a dreamcatcher and catch your innermost feelings. I can relate to so many of her poems. Her ability to play to your soul with her words is a gift most authors can only dream of. As always, with her books, this book is a must read.

Rogue hits you in the feels yet again, with another amazing collection of poems. There isn’t much I can say at this point that hasn’t already been said. She rips you open and sews you back up. The best.

I hate saying this but every time Jen comes out with a new poetry book, it’s my new favorite. Every line flows so perfectly. I found myself highlighting almost everything.

There is so much beauty in this pain. So much light in the darkness. Some of the shortest poems hit me the hardest. I tried to slow down and savor the words but it was impossible. You’ll gobble this up and read it again and again.

Quite moving, captured my heart.

I found myself quickly journeying through the pages, with my heart and soul longing for more. A few especially touched the recesses of my heart. 'If you drown, I drown' got me teary-eyed. 'Love is' I found quite reminiscent of my first love; that fresh, we will be everything feel. 'You' is exactly what I want love to be. Wonderful poems, a must read.

Unrequited heart ache

Rogues words constantly invoke emotions. Always pulling from the deepest parts of her soul she lashes the paper with her thoughts and creates something so resonating in me I never can define it. I always love reading her work because I simply can not wait to see what will come next.

This feels almost like a response to the building hope of volume 1. Like a humble and requited love. Fulfillment and an enthusiasm for the unknown laid before!

Rogue can be so wonderfully severe when writing about difficulties but so delicately handles the fragile emotions that come with resilience in love.

This is a short but good read. It's a gut punch that is touching with sentiments, gratitude, and plethora of emotions. Each poem flows into the next smoothly and seamlessly. A fantastic collection of poems to read over and over again.

This is my new favorite Jen Rogue book of poems. I want to have my husband read this. I want to copy all of the poems and hang them around my house. The feelings that were poured into these poems came right out when I read them and punched me in the gut. I love all of these words.

I enjoyed reading Vol.1 so much that I decided to read Vol.2. It was as good as I expected it to be. I really liked the poem "Pave It". That one was my favorite out of them all.

This is a lovely collection, but rather short. Some of the poems are magnificent, some lack a bit of depth. But it was an enjoyable quick read.
