Amelia is obsessed with finding the killer… assuming he actually exists.
Amelia Bailey feels like she's losing her mind.
Her marriage and business are in shambles and her thoughts and feelings are out of control. That makes it hard for her to prove that the person behind all the deaths, attacks, and sadistic threats to her family is the person she saw kidnap her daughter.
Someone she thought she and her best friend Maddy had killed twenty years ago.
When the police refuse to even investigate her claims, Amelia decides to track down the murderer herself. But she's starting to experience blackouts and having a hard time concentrating.
How can she stop the killer if nobody trusts her… even Amelia herself?

Everyone in Toxey thinks Amelia Bailey led a charmed life. But now the tables have turned. It seems she is losing it all- her business, her marriage, and possibly her sanity. She has devoted everything to proving to the police that her daughter’s kidnapper is the same man who has been writing threatening notes to her family that she once thought was dead. But the police aren’t taking her seriously and she sets out to solve it on her own.
This is the best in the series to date. I enjoyed getting to see Amelia’s character becoming not so perfect. This book made me think about how persona is not always what it seems. The drama runs high in this installment and the psychological elements are at their very best.
I recommend this book for fans of Christopher Pike and Ann M. Martin. This would be an ideal gift for that thriller fan in your life. I have searched hard to find a series with the ideal balance of adult characters with the feel of a YA book from the 90s and I have found it in this series. This is the 4th book in the Moms Who Lie series and I can’t wait to find out what happens in Toxey next!
Lies That Stalk Us: "Moms Who Lie" Domestic Psychological Thriller Book 4, my fourth read from authors Brett Monk & McKenna Langford and the fourth of their Moms Who Lie series. An entertaining, enjoyable, and suspenseful read that I had to wait 2 months to read. You know those horror movies that have sequel after sequel, think Scream? These books resemble the plot lines of them though you still have to read them to see how they’ll turn out. “I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I'll definitely be reading more from this author and in this series. Now I have to wait until September for Lying In Plain Sight: Domestic Psychological Thriller Book 5 (Moms Who Lie). (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Like the previous books, "Lies That Stalk Us" didn't fail to keep my attention the whole way through! I love the way these books are written (in first person) and the characters are well developed. This book and the ones before are written in a way that makes you feel like you are part of the characters' story. This one also ends in a cliff hanger, which I was a little disappointed since I wanted to see who is doing everything that is going on! But it definitely makes me wanting to read the next one! I highly recommend all the books in this series. You won't be disappointed!
I received an ARC of this book for my honest opinion. All reviews are my own.
This is the fourth book in the Moms That Lie series and what a book! The story continues with the lives of Amelia, Maddy and their children and the challenges and issues that they face. This book is well written and impossible to put down. It made me wonder how I would fare in any of the situations that the characters faced. I highly recommend this book. Read the entire series. You will not be disappointed! Thank you Brett Monk, McKenna Langford and the publisher for an advanced copy of this wonderful book.
Some questions were answered again but there are as many more to wonder about again. Brett Monk is one of my favorite authors. While you wait for the conclusion of this series, I can recommend any one of his other series. Sometimes I don't like waiting for the next book, but in the meantime I guess I can imagine any number of conclusions. Wonder if I will be anywhere near what he's writing.
It was too repetitive. We could've wrapped this up in 3 books AT BEST. They just keep repeating scenes from the previous books and rather than being a helpful review of events it has just become very mundane so I had to tap out. Maybe I'll go back to find out whodunnit but I had to give it up for now lol
This might be the best book of the series so far. The deeper we go the more answers we get the more questions we have. I truly love how this series has been laid out. I really can't wait for the final book.
Well theses two never disappoint me! Another awesome book! Kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to read more! Definitely a series you want too read 👍👍
I want to give this one 5 stars, but I just can't. The grammatical errors throughout all of these books simply drive me crazy, but this book was really good, other than that.
