Underneath the antiquated font and boring layout is a gem of a book. Total Vision takes you on a journey of your eyesight, visiting areas you never knew were connected with sight. Did you know that your personality can be related to how you see? Farsighted folks may keep people at a distance.

"[The eyes] are the means through which we get 80 or 90 percent of our information about the world, and thus they are a major factor in who we are, what we do and what we will become." Wow.

Even though this book was written in 1978, it does not read that way. On the contrary, it seems as if this book was way ahead of its time, recommending such therapies as massage, sunlight, vitamins, eye therapy, visualizations, and more. I was fascinated by the author's findings on the importance of sunlight. Apparently ultraviolet rays are necessary for the eye's biochemical reactions. When parts of the sunlight spectrum are blocked, abnormalities may develop, some as serious as becoming infertile.

I am thankful that our eye doctor recommended this book so strongly. I hope someone else will be encouraged to pick up a copy!
