When a slam book gets passed around the seventh grade, no one is safe from the gossip -- and the truth sometimes hurts! A sweet new Candy Apple about the sticky mess gossip and secrets can create!
Audrey is fascinated by the new girl at school, Mailee. But she isn't sure how to get to know her -- Mailee is nice to everyone, but Audrey can't tell if she wants to be friends. So Audrey launches the perfect a slam book! She secretly circulates a notebook with space to comment on all the sixth-grade girls, including herself, hoping it'll reach Mailee soon. But does Audrey really want to know the truth?
Audrey has been friends with Carmen since like forever but when a new girl arrives at school, Audrey goes out of her way to try to become friends with the new girl as far as making a "slam book" because she just has to know what the new girl thinks about her!
I really wanted to smack Audrey upside her head! You don't diss a friend like she did just to make a new friend. Besides what kind of example does that show the potential new friend that if another new person comes along you may do them the same way? Friends are fairly easy to find but a bestest friend is somebody you need to hang onto as Audrey finally learns!
This book 📖 is one of my favorites. It shows the true meaning of friendship 👭 and how you can never have too many friends. When Audrey meets a new girl 💃 she immediately realized she was different and wants to make friends with her. To find 🔍 out what 😦 she thinks of her Audrey creates a slambook 📖 even though slambooks are against the rules 🚷 she goes ahead anyway. Audrey is so caught up in making a new friend she forgets about her old one, Callie. Callie soon gets furious and slams Audrey disguising herself as the new girl 💃. Will Audrey be able to get out of the mess she got herself into?

This book is about a girl, Audrey Jones. There came a new girl in town. Audrey thought that she seems nice and wants to make friends but Audrey doesn't know what Mailee (the new girl) thinks of her. Audrey started a slam book to find out what Mailee thinks of herself but slam books are against the rule in her school! Will Audrey find the real truth and yet avoid the trouble of getting caught of starting a slam book? (I'm making this sound like the blurb aren't I? )
I liked the story in the beginning but I really didn’t like what Cameron did but I should of seen it coming since it didn’t go into mailees bag affer Cameron said she would put it in there just means she had it and I understand Cameron was jealous but she really shouldbt of said that she should of found something else to deal with her anger

i read this in like 3rd grade and wanted to reread it don’t flame me LMFAO but to this day i still enjoyed this book and it kept me entertained for a fun quick read. this book was very nostalgic to me and while reading, it brought me back to the mindset / values i had when i was younger. I appreciate how it emphasizes the importance of honesty and friendship
When a new girl named Mailee moves into town, Audrey becomes fascinated with how down-to-earth, fun, and friendly she is to everyone. Audrey knows she wants to become friends with her, but is afraid to ask.
To figure out what Mailee thinks of her, Audrey starts a slam book. The rules are simple. Everyone uses a number, not their name, when they're entering information about other people, and they have to do it alone. When they're done, they have to sneakily pass it on to the next person.
When rumors start flying that Audrey was the one who made the slam book, she starts to worry that Mailee won't get the book or, worse, will think less of her. In the process of trying to get Mailee to like her, however, Audrey ignores her best friend, Carmen, who's been acting strange ever since her parents called a family meeting.
Will Audrey manage to make friends with Mailee while still staying friends with Carmen? Why is Carmen acting so different? Will Audrey get caught for making the slam book?
RUMOR HAS IT is a fun, fast book to read. The characters are pretty well-developed, and the plot moves along quickly enough to keep the reader's attention. Those who like realistic fiction and the other Candy Apple books will enjoy reading this one.

what i've learned that a rral friend wo't lie or keep a secret from you becasue a real friend wold always have your back through thick and thin.In this book the main character Audrey goes back to school for the new school year at he middle school as a seventh grader then she meets the new girl and trys to be her friend, but then the meanest girl at their school trys to take the new girl into her little group so she can make Audrey feel like she doesn't really have any friends. then she sees the two of them hang out and talk to eachother so then she starts to think if she is really her firnd. But in the end Audrey finds out that the new girl just wnated to make a new frind so she hung out with the first person who approached her so then audrey and the new girl became friends.
This is a book called Rumor Has It and it is by Jane B. Mason, and Sarah Hines Stephens. Some of the characters are Audrey, Carmen, Mailee, Elena, Ginger, and Sandy. This is about Audrey wanting to be friends with the new girl named Mailee. But Audrey doesn't know if Mailee feels the same way about wanting to be friends so Audrey creates a slam book. This book isn't aloud at school but Audrey uses it anyway, this book will help her try to figure out if Mailee feels the same way. This book is a drama book, I think this book is a good book because I like high school books because they are interesting. Overall I gave this book a four star rating.
Borrowed from the Little Library. Very cute, but goodness me Audrey is such a flake - it was obvious from the first dark look that Carmen was feeling left out and hard done by, and why wouldn't she be? They're bffs but suddenly Audrey is investing all her time and energy into finding out if the new girl likes her or not, and she isn't above using Carmen in her quest either. I'm pretty sure that even if I was the target age group I'd still be annoyed by her ;)
Audrey Jones wants to see if the new girl at school Mailee wants to be friends with her. So Audrey decides to start a slam book to see what everyone thinks of her- including Mailee. Slam books are against the school rules and Audrey can get caught. Everyone is exited to read and write in the book, but does Audrey really want to know the truth?
I read this book recently. I think Audrey should have just asked Mailee if she liked her instead of starting a slam book and all of that trouble. I think Carmen should have been nicer. She was spiteful.
