Two jedi knights are attacked by the trade federation during what was supposed to be peaceful negotiations. The two jedi flee to Naboo to warn the queen of an invasion. Once they escape, they notice that the ship is damaged. Unable to make it to they're destination, they forced to land on tatooine. While there, they meet a slave, Anakin Skywalker, who makes a If arrangements for them to gamble in order to get the engine they need. If they win, Anakin will be free, but you'll have to read to see if they do...
When i was little, i loved Star Wars, so I thought i might as well read it. It was pretty much what the movie was, so it was ok.
I would recomend this book to any Star Wars nerd, or someone who likes Star Wars and hasn't seen the first movie(if it's possible to like a movie you haven't seen).

"Liked it." - 3 out of 5 star rating.

It's The Phantom Menace (TPM) in comic book form.

100% straight forward, with nothing new added and zero risk... this is the only reason why I am dropping this back -1 star, as its just more of a good thing - but doesn't offer anything new.

Another -1 star due to some highlights from the film and key dialog moments that are either entirely missed or slightly off/different here.

In order of precedence between book, movie, comic - the TPM comic adaptation comes in last.

Jar Jar is so annoying. The story would be so much better without him.

I liked how the book left you hanging at the end: "What will happen when these Jedi become aware of these Sith lords? -- To be continued."
