“Bloodlust” book 2 of the vampire twins series (nightmare series of the 90s) by Janice Harrell. Dec 23, 2025 to Dec 25, 2025.
I read this book as a teenager, fancied reading the book again. In this book it’s a continuation of book 1. The characters behave older, surprised that they’re 16!
In this book, Paul becomes a vampire, made by Verena (Aunt Gabrielle’s friend). Always remember the scene where he accidentally kills Suzannah, his girlfriend. Ari doesn’t take his change very well. She refuses to become a vampire.
She wants to grow old. 8 children?! With Cos? She needs to grow up a bit! Ari’s character is a bit annoying. She’s a bit judgey.
Cos ex girlfriend Nadia and best friend Jesse, become a couple, they believe in vampires!
Rab is Sybil’s older brother. He has a thing for Ari. I wonder if he’s Ari’s step brother? As Rab’s and Sybil’s mother Mrs Barron, has history with Richard Montclair, the twins father. Richard told her the truth of his vampire life, she abandoned him. In this book he’s rarely around. But was in the book at the beginning.
Vampires scared of fire, scared of cigarettes.
Is this book a four star, for nostalgic reasons, yes.
Now started book three on 25 Dec 2025.

This book finds Paul turned. He is bitten and becomes a vampire. Ami is upset but there is nothing she can do for her brother now. Together they are still trying to piece together their family history and find out more about what is means to have a vampire as a father. While trying to keep friends and others alike from finding out their long buried secrets.
Janice Harrell is an impressive YA author. I liked this book and will continue the series and look for more by her and authors similar.
