Dinosaur Cove #7

Saving The Stegosaurus

Rate this book
The perfect series for dino-loving adventurers!

When the boys return to Dino World this time, everything is different. The trees, the landscape, it's almost like they've gone to another place. But that's not it-it's another time! Tom and Jamie have been transported to the Jurassic period, which means they'll have all new dinosaurs to meet. But their exploration is cut short when a sudden downpour separates a stegosaurus egg from its mother-and plops it right into the boys' laps. And when the "steg egg" starts to hatch, Jamie and Tom know they're on the clock to get the baby dino back to its mother. If only they could find her!

Saving The Stegosaurus is a book about two friends named Jamie and Tom, and their adventures in Dino World. When the friends come across dinosaur footprints and place their feet in each of the fossils, they are magically transported to a world with real live dinosaurs. They meet up with the Wannanosaurus dinosaur, nicknamed Wanna, and travel all around with him by their side. They take adventures back in time to the Jurassic time and somehow Wanna showed up there. They explore, and come across some Stegosaurus eggs, and come up with a plan to give them back to the mom. Thankfully, it worked and the mom didn't get mad at Jamie, Tom, and Wanna, you could tell she was excited to have her eggs back. Just as soon as they returned them, the eggs had hatched and they decided they better get back home, and make a new map. I really enjoyed this story. I think that I would've liked it even more if I was more into dinosaurs, but even though I am not that interested in dinosaurs, I still really enjoyed this book. I also think that a young reader that is really into dinosaurs would absolutely love this book and the series in general. I think it is cool that the reader can not only read an interesting story about the boys and how they travel back in time, but the reader can also learn real facts from this book. In the beginning and the very end, there are real facts about the dinosaurs that are mentioned in the story and it gives you the real definition about the dinosaur and some other information too. I would have this in my future third or fourth grade classroom library for those students that like to read and are interested about dinosaurs. I also think that after reading this book, you could further this by giving the students more in-depth books about the dinosaurs that were mentioned in this story for them to read up on these dinosaurs. They could broaden their knowledge by reading more information and facts about these dinosaurs.

Tom and Jamie went to the Jurassic period this time. They see some stegosauruses with eggs. One of the eggs from a stegosaurus's nest falls out! Tom and Jamie save it. When they give the egg back to the mother, the boys get to see the egg hatch!
It is amazing in dinosaur world.

I love the dinosaur cove series. I love the secret tunnel into dino world. I wish our world had a tunnel that led to live dinosaurs. It would be amazing.

My 9-year old grandson thoroughly enjoyed this book. Would highly recommend for other children, especially boys or those interested in dinosaurs.

I thought this one was quite good. There is a freshness from the boys discovering a new prehistoric era (the Jurassic).
