Handmade soaps have always been a delight of mine.

The personalised smells and fragrances that are chosen just for you are a decadent addition to my bath time routine.

I usually get handmade soap given to me as gifts, so to be able to make my own is both beautiful and satisfying.

An introduction to soap and how it made is interesting, the history of soap dates back to the eight Century, and the basic technique has not really changed over time.

Soaps, is a wonderful book that tells us how to choose fragrance,  add colour and as well as the many techniques also gives advice on allergies and errors.

The Perfume Blending section is amazing,  with base notes and mixing oils to give the best results. I loved the Colour associations,  as these give effects of the subconscious results that colour can have on our need for tranquility and calm.

The soaps themselves are gorgeous, each themed bar, from a cup cake to a fairy are charming and delightful, there is much fun to be had.
