Duchess Carver wasn’t looking forward to meeting Muhsin Vuyani in person since their business dealings by phone had been anything but pleasant. Stunned could only begin to describe her reaction to his request when she stood in his Chicago office: Marriage- a partnership in name only to help him obtain a sizable trust.
To save her father’s business, Duchess agreed but had no idea what an emotional adventure the false courtship would do to her peace of mind. Could she deny the feelings that were not a part of the deal, especially when she discovers Muhsin's proposal is even more complex than he led her to believe?

Merry go round of fun, laughter, and pain from beginning to end and still a happily ever after ending was achieved for Duchess and Muhsin the journey was rough with all the games, twists and turns but true love prevailed... Mz.Altonya did it again as always great job I hope there will be a sequel to catch up with everybody👏👍😘😍😉😏😊😆😀😃😁😄😅😂😎💓💗💞💘😈🙋
It's a shame when parents pass their hate and vendettas down to their kids. That's what happened between Muhsin and Duchess but what started off as a revenge scheme ended up in real love along with a true marriage.
Overall, it was a good story. The turning point is when the heroine stopped being strong and became almost cartoonish with her naivete of those around her (including the hero). Also, I didn't understand her being billed as a strong determined business woman however she leaves her job in Philly to go to Chicago and doesn't return for weeks and months (oh yeah because she needed a vacation and she's trying to save her business). It just didn't fly because one would have thought she would've been working from the hotel or wherever she was staying. The last straw for me was when she went to the seedy place her drug addict friend was and tried to stand up to the drug dealer. Really? Seriously? Really? That's when I had to put the book down and walk away.
As I said overall, it was a good story with a few flaws and grammatical errors. However I did like the story.
Blaze was on a mission, to make Duchess fall in love with him no matter the cost. Duchess was desperate to save her fathers company and Blaze made her an offer she couldn't refuse. These two went into their proposal with two different outcomes in mind. Even through all of Blaze's scheming Duchess just couldn't resist him. This is a riveting story that will keep you glued until the very last page. Blaze and Duchess are two extremely strong characters who were perfect for each other in every way. Look out for uncle Quincy also. He is extremely suave, and nearly stole the show,
This was a great novel. The twists of revelation of a man an woman falling in love in relationships. Altonya captured not only the essence of the hero and heroines characters but she included the devestation of drug abuse and the after affects on how it reaches into the hearts and minds of friends of active drug abusers.
The male in this story saw something he wanted and went after it .I tend to like stories with strong males. But i could never personally deal with a man that manipulative.
