it wasn't difficult for Chaibane, an Algerian engineer to fall in love with Nawal, a Palestinian student after their trip together to central Asia, both students in the URSS in 1987, Nawal told the story of how her father and brother were slaughtered by the Libanese milicia, he realized how fragile she was, despite her pride and strength, like every Palestinian tortured by a past of massacres and blood.
soon the girl disappears after she finishes her studies, Chaibane goes back to Algeria in that year of turmoil that will lead, years later to the civil war known as "the dark decade", he struggles in her absence and soon decides to find her.
from here starts the journey that will change Chaibane's life, starting from Damascus, Al Yarmouk refugee camp where Nawal's mother lives, to the hell of Lebanon's civil war and camps siege in Beirut..he will be witness of the madness of wars and vengence in a bloody end of a century and will be amazed by people's determination to live and his own resilience and courage to do anything to find the woman he loves..

a book of exile and love, of horror and blood that only Anouar Benmalek can knead with style..
