Really enjoyed the read and was far better than expected. Fascinating story to tell though laden with self pity and lack of empathy. The short, simple paragraph on Justin Fashanu was depressing. That said, I wish the author luck in his future and hope all works out well for him

Quite the unusual and detailed autobiography of a top English football star that I have ever read. Mark Ward was a young and very promising winger back in the mid 1980's when I watched him play for Oldham Athletic. In just a couple of seasons he was on his way to West Ham.
'From Right Wing to B Wing' has no ghost writer, but was written by Mark while serving his sentence in prison as a result of his involvement in a drug bust after the close of his playing career.
What is striking about this book is the honest and sincere way his story is presented, all the highs and lows of his time in the game, all the personal details of family life both good and bad, as well as his struggle through his four year jail term.
'Wardy' has put together a thoroughly enjoyable and unique football memoir, published after his release in 2009. I can only wish him the very best in his future life.
