Zbliża się zima, a wikingowie jak na razie nie powrócili do swoich domów z wyprawy łupieckiej. Oprócz jednego - Eryka, którego Louve wraz z Jolanem odnajdują w lesie okaleczonego przez wilki. Twierdzi on, iż w przeciwieństwie do współtowarzyszy, przetrwał morski atak czarnowłosej kobiety i Shaigana Bezlitosnego, a następnie dotarł do wioski. Informuje on zgromadzonych wokół siebie starców i kobiety, że Shaiganem Bezlitosnym jest... Thorgal Aegirsson. Konsekwencje jego opowieści okazują się przerażające. Aaricia zostaje napiętnowana gorącym żelazem i wraz z dziećmi wygnana na zawsze z wioski.
Po drodze do Wielkiego Fiordu Południa bohaterowie napotykają wiele przeszkód: unikają zniewolenia przez łowcę wygnańców - Arkadesa, zostają okradzieni przez wygnańców, których uwolnili (wśród nich jest Darek). Następnie docierają do Fiordu, skąd mają zamiar udać się na dawną wyspę. Do Aaricii i Louve, zostawionych w zgliszczach chaty przez Jolana, szukającego sposobności do kupna łodzi, przybywa Eryk. Przyznaje on, że jego opowieść nie była do końca prawdziwa. Próbę wyjaśnienia i rehabilitacji przerywa mu Kriss de Valnor. Eryk ginie z jej rąk, a Aaricia z Louve zostają uwięzione w zamku na cyplu, gdzie przebywają wikingowie i Lehla, siostra Darka. Jolan wraz z ponownie napotkanym Darkiem podejmuje próbę uwolnienia bliskich. Ostatecznie wyzwalają oni z niewoli wszystkich (w tym Lehlę) z wyjątkiem...Aaricii i Louve, których Kriss de Valnor zabiera z sobą do fortecy Shaigana Bezlitosnego. Jolan wraz z Darkiem i Lehlą wyrusza w morze w poszukiwaniu owej fortecy na ratunek swojej rodzinie...

Par chance, « La Marque des Bannis » était le deuxième livre de la série Thorgal que j’ai lu il y a presque des 23 années. Malgré l’immense développement du sujet entre la première et vingtième livre, le sujet et l’atmosphère m’ont attrapés immédiatement… et pour toujours. Thorgal lui-même ne fait pas une apparition dans cet album, mais son monde agrandis de plus et de plus.

Świetny komiks - w tym przypadku krytyka może pochodzić trochę z zazdrości. Jednak Thorgal stał się popularny w Polsce zanim pojawiła się cała masa innych bohaterów. Walka dobra ze złem, to, że żaden człowiek nie jest doskonały itp. nie przeszkodziło w zagłębianiu się w przygody.

Le dessin est splendide, comme d'hab. Le scénario plus intimiste, moins grandiose, nous mène dans l'envers du décors ; pendant que Thorgal - pardon, Shaïgan- joue aux pirates sur son bateau, que deviennent Aaricia, Louve et Jolan ?
Eh bien ils ont des ennuis par sa faute, normal.

J'aimerais plus d'albums mettant en scène Aaricia. "La petite paysanne est aussi une princesse viking, Kriss de Valnor, n'oublie jamais ça !"
Que la princesse viking se rebelle, qu'elle botte le train à Kriss, aux mégères, et aussi à Thorgal qui nous fatigue avec ses atermoiements !

Bon, pas pour cette fois, pas pour cet album. C'est quand même un plaisir de voir la caméra sur Aaricia (et Solveig, mon perso chouchou pour aucune raison. J'aimerais des spin-of sur Solveig !).

Het vierde deel in een lange saga die startte met 'De sleutelbewaarster' gaat veel meer over Thorgals familie dan over hemzelf. We leren Wolvin en vooral Jolan beter kennen, en Jolans vrienden Darek en Lehla worden geïntroduceerd. Dit is een zeer realistisch verhaal, met afgezien van Jolans en Wolvins gaven, geen fantastische of science-fiction-elementen. Ook wel 's verfrissend. De boodschap van de verder duistere en Winterse vertelling is een combinatie van 'wie goed doet, goed ontmoet' en 'samen sta je sterk'.

2 of Shaigon arc:

As Thorgal loses his memory and is deceived by the vile Kriss of Valnor into the terrible pirate 'Shaigon', Aaricia and her children find themselves exiled from the Viking clan when the Vikings recognise that Shaigon is none other than Thorgal..

The exile is hard for her and her children as they try to move back to their island, but soon things turn bad when the vile Kriss of Valnor enslaves Aaricia right in front of Thorgal who doesn't even recognise her..

Jolan has a good space in this issue ❤️

Insane how good this volume is when Thorgal only appears in one panel. Aaricia and her children's characters are even more fleshed out and the new characters introduced are compelling. Beautiful and hopeful ending.

Thorgal est pratiquement absent de ce tome et on est impatient de comprendre comment il peut être aussi perdu et éloigné de son état originel! Un album de transition ou Jolan prend plus de place.

The plot twists once more for the Thorgal family and they are cast out of the Viking community. Thorgal is nowhere to be found while a new warlord with his resemblance terrorizes the north.

Plenty of set-up for many more entries in this series. It's a bold choice to keep Thorgal (almost) entirely out of the picture for the entire duration of this book, but it works surprisingly well.

Album bez Thorgala, który skupia się na Aaricii i Jolanie których dopadają konsekwencje złych decyzji Thorgala z ostatnich dwóch albumów. Z jednej strony jest to sensowne, a z drugiej strony niezbyt porywające. Bardzo lubię za to tą okładkę.

Le périple d' Aaricia, Jolan et Louve n'a rien à envier aux frasques de Thorgal. L'ambiance hivernale du décor est particulièrement réussie et rappelle "le maître des montagnes".

Det här var en av de första fantasy serierna jag läste som blandade in science fiction i allt det magiska. Det var en ögonöppnande upplevelse som gjort det här en mycket minnesvärd serie! Har den åldrats? Absolut, men jag kan inte låta bli att älska den trots detta.
