Lyfsgud: If God Sent You a Text Message

Rate this book
In this short devotional book for LDS girls, Laurel Christensen says, Heavenly Father is anxious to talk to you. And if texting was His chosen method, He would do it. But, for now, it s not. He wants you to come to Him in prayer and scripture study and personal worship time. So, don t let these text devotionals be replacements for any of that. But if they can be little reminders of messages He is trying to send you, then they ve done their job. LYFSGUD is full of inspirational thoughts especially for Latter- day Saint young women. Laurel s unique way of putting things will help them understand on a deeply personal level that they have a Father in Heaven, that they are His daughters, and that He loves them. Each chapter includes a Big Message (a devotional), a Little Message (an invitation to act), and a section called His Message for You (where girls are invited to write down the impressions they receive from the Spirit while they read). The book also invites young women to visit GoAskLaurel.com to ask questions and share experiences.

Overall, good book. Meant for youth. Contains some goodreat stories and thoughts. In books for youth, I prefer the style of John Bytheway though, so for me, it wasn't 5 stars. Good read once, but I probably wouldn't read it again.

I loved this book! It was very easy and quick to read, and I loved to read stories about her life and how she could relate to me.

I liked it. I loved listening to her CD's and I got an autographed copy because my mom used to have a job where got to rub shoulders with her a time or two. On one occasion my mom told her about me and that I loved her CD's, so Laurel whipped out the book, wrote a message and signed it, and gave it to my mom to give to me.

This is a great inspirational read for young women dealing with the dramas of teenage life! I like how each chapter has a section for girls to record their own thoughts and feelings.
