It's good to have a morning ritual, something to prime you for your day. As a Christian/Catholic, I think it's a good idea to include meditating on God's words as part of this "ritual".

When I first saw this book, I was intrigued. I thought, "Lincoln wrote a daily devotional?!" and of course, I was mistaken. As the story goes, Mary Todd Lincoln (Abe's wife) bought him a daily devotional back in the day, THIS devotional. Well, not exactly this... But the author had the devotional reprinted, with minor modifications (which include quotes from Lincoln himself), to preserve the flavor of the text as it was originally written in the style of Mr. Lincoln's time, and one can't help but think of the possibilities of this book shaping Lincoln's daily grind as well.
