Pyramids

Rate this book
Pyramids tells the story of these Egyptian monuments from their earliest beginnings, following their development from the first step pyramid to the Great Pyramid of Giza. Unlike most books on the subject, the volume describes not only the pyramids themselves but also the complexes of temples
and walls that surrounded them. It also tells the stories of the kings and builders who created them. Filer follows the story of the pyramids through a study of eight individual sites, each with something different to tell us about the construction of the pyramid complexes, the architects who
designed them, the workers who built them, the kings who were buried in them, and the robbers who plundered them.

Pyramids is an interesting historical book by Joyce Filer. This book mostly talks about Pyramids. Did you know that Ancient Egyptian pyramids are the most famous pyramids in the world? Also, there are over 130 pyramids that have been discovered in Egypt. Did you know that Saqqara is a huge ancient burial ground built near the Egyptian city of Memphis? Additionally, the Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest and largest of three pyramids in the Giza Necropolis! Also, over about 3800 years, the Great Pyramid of Giza was the tallest structure in the world. Mostly all Egyptian Pyramids are located on the west of the Nile. Did you know that all Egyptian Pyramids has secret passages? Besides, there are Bodies placed in the tombs were protected by mummification. Did you know that Egyptians buried their dead with jewelry? Well, most Ancient Egyptian pyramids were built as tombs for Pharaohs and their families.

The best part of the book Pyramids was “A Revolutionary New Tomb”. I liked it because it talked about The Step Pyramid and how it was built. The Step Pyramid Was the first building that was built out of stone. From the information of the book, the reader learns a lot about pyramids and their names and how they were built. I also learned a lot about Djoser, their king. He ruled Egypt for 19 years. He was a very successful king. He was also known for the king who mined for make-up.

The most exciting episode in the book was when I read about was “A Revolutionary New Tomb” because it talked about The Step Pyramid and how it was built. Also, The Step Pyramid Was the first building that was built out of stone. However, the most disappointing moment in this book was when this book had ended because honestly, I really enjoyed the book. It also inspired me to read more historical informational books. I would recommend this book to all the people who love history because this book showed a lot of fantastic facts about Pyramids and it was really interesting to read. Also, I would recommend this book to all ages because it's an informational book and it was very fun to read.
