SECRETS & LIARS is a scandalous read. The back cover says: Not for the prim and proper - and it's right!

This book follows the lives of a group of popular, rich girls and guys at St. Cecilia's, a prestigious prep school in England.

The leader of the group is Alice Rochester. She is the most popular girl in school and everyone wants to be friends with her. The one girl she hates is Dylan, an American, who followed Alice's ex, Tristan, back to school after summer break.

Alice will do anything to take Dylan down. But is Dylan really as bad as she seems? Plus, Tally Abbot has a crush on her teacher, and while they are on a class trip she kisses him - and things get complicated. Also, Alice meets a guy named Boy, who is a real jerk and just stringing her along, which she finds out when they all go to Rome for her cousin's wedding.

With all the drama and backstabbing, this is one novel that takes you on a wild ride through the lives of England's most privileged kids, and makes you realize that though they may seem to have it all, that doesn't necessarily mean they're happy. Their parents are mostly too busy to bother with them and they have so much freedom that it sometimes hurts them.

This is a really excellent read, even without having read book one in the series!

I decided to read this book as it was sitting right in front of me on the library shelf. The cover looked quite interesting so I gave it a go.
No one I knew had read this book so I didn't know what it was about. As I read on in the book, I found it had offensive language, use of drugs and alcohol and sexual references.

The category this book fills in is "A box with a female character." This is interesting as the character lives a different lifestyle to me. So, I learnt how wealthy people can live and what kinds of pressure they can be put under.

My favorite quote in this book is
"Can't you see? Sometimes love happens in the strangest places. It takes us by surprise. That's life, and whether its good or bad- well does bad exist if no one's getting hurt?" As she looked at Alice, tears welled onto her cheeks.
This is being said by a girl called Tally. She had fallen in love with a teacher and is helping her bet friend understand her true feelings. I like this quote as it shows true emotion and usually this character is the opposite to this. It is quite interesting seeing her transact from a wild child to a deep and emotional girl.

In this book I learnt that you should never throw away your best friendships because of a romance gone wrong. Forget the past and start living in the present.

I really found the character Sonia interesting. She idolizes her best friend even though she has everything anyone could ask for. Wealth, education, beauty and a bright future. I also found that she had a nose job done on her nose at only 17 interesting.

This book totally reminded me of the Rich & Famous version of the Gossip Girls series. Love is in the air at the ultra elite St. Cecilia's boarding school. Alice Rochester and Tally (Natalya) Abbott are on the prowl for the hottest and smartest guys around. However, Alice and Tally are up against some stiff competition when it comes to finding love and keeping it, especially when the truth about love is hidden in lies and secrets.

For those who are fans of the Gossip Girl series, then this may be up your ally. Although Kingsley started off slow, eventually the plot did pick up a little. It also seemed that Kingsley rushed the end a bit, therefore some of the elements were a bit far-reaching. Followers of the series will not be dismayed at the outcome, and they will eagerly await Kingsley next book Pretty on the Outside.

This book is a continuation from Pretty on The Outside. It is about this girl named Alice is still having a crush on her ex-boyfriend, Tristan. Then suddenly she met a boy who she got a crush on. Her best friend, Tally had a crush on her English teacher. Both girls went into disastrous moments and I could say is Alice have a crazy mind because she already have a crush and she's getting another one. She didn't even know the boy and just like him because of his cuteness. I think Alice should pick Tristan because she knows him much better. Tally just do things that she thinks it is correct but it really not because dating a English teacher is not right especially she is his student. Will the girls get a heartbreak in the end? Read the book to find out!
