It would be unfair to simply call Unholy Grail a Da Vinci Code style book. The characters and the research behind the different myths surrounding the grail are far superior to Dan Brown's bestseller. Also, Wilson's balances viewpoints through his two main characters: a Jesuit priest and a skeptical academic. It is a quick paced thriller with short chapters. If you enjoyed The Da Vinci Code, you'll love Unholy Grail.

A novel portraying Jesus Christ as a mere human and saying that the Church was the first Institute that relied on "public image" for masquerading the Rise of Jesus? The book really forces the limits. But it is just a novel, so enjoy it. Only 4 stars, because I would have wanted to know more about Philipe Armand, the brute force of the secret order, meant to protect the descendants of Jesus, and also more about Cristoforo/Grabriel who wanted to bring down the order. They are two of the 4 most important characters. Also, the leaders of the Rex Deus Order could have been made more detailed.

Still, a Dan Brown flavoured novel, but with a more dark twist regarding Mary, mother of Jesus.

It was an entertaining story. The story line was going in different directions through out the book. The antagonist was not revealed until very late in the story. Many characters died without having their characters developed very much. The attempts by Romano to dissuade Brit from perusing her quest was made by his repetitious attempt to get her to quit, that it borders on redundancy. Yes, we know he wants a preponderance of evidence but really lets move on. The book is full of clichés. I think I lost count at 15.

Probably more a 2.5 read. I didn't like one of the main characters (Brittany) and found part of the premise (involving Marta and the whole pure blood bit) too far out. But it was still a good read.

For the most part, a fun read. The coincidences in the last part of the book were a bit much. Having read "Holy Blood, Holy Grail", the premise of the story was familiar. Unfortunately the author used a Dan Brown strategy for bring his story to resolution and thereby lost me.

If you're a fan of the popular religious thrillers that are all the rage right now, you'll want to add this one to your collection.

This wants to be the DaVinci Code, but it's not. Stilted dialogue runs throughout, making it painful to read. The end was clear from the beginning; I hate that.

summer reading. Not bad as such things go. Better than its Dan Brown inspiration.

El libro en un principio es bastante cautivador, algo parecido al codigo da vinci, pero pienso con un poco de contenidos. Lamentable el final no me gusto para nada.

This book was okay but way to close to all the other books of this genre, particularly the DaVinci Code. If you have read the DaVinci Code then you have read this book.
