Guilty Secrets

Rate this book
Abby Lacey is now unrecognisible as the wild, tempestuous girl who left Dublin all those years ago to travel the world. Based in Sorrento, she plans fairytale Italian weddings. But only she knows the real reason why she abandoned her travels so abruptly...

Lia Lacey, now a glamorous, bestselling novelist, bears no resemblance to the struggling single-mother of her past. Mixing among the glitterati of London's literary crowd, she too has vowed never to return home. But as her troubled daughter, Abby, grows more distant, Lia realises that in order to help her, she must face the one thing she has been running from.

Paula Stevens, owner of Dublin's most elite recruitment company, has come a long way from the shy, studious girl of her youth. But can she find the courage to be true to herself?

I enjoyed this book, it is the second of Zoe Miller's that I have read, and she is definitely an author on my must read list.
One thing I found difficult at times though, were the characters of Paula and Abby - I'm not really sure why but I just didn't like them as much as I probably should have, with them being main characters. I found Paula incredibly annoying with her constant cold attitude, and I felt like screaming at her at times, willing her to stop being so stupid! I found Abby to be incredibly silly at times also. However, it does become clear eventually why they behave in the way they do, and in fact these issues I had did not stop me wanting to read this book.

I would defintely read Zoe's books again :)

Guilty secrets? A couple of broken hearts, some misplaced embarrassment and a general tendency to stop thinking altogether when it comes to one's not-so-very-secret beloved.
