The book opens up with "Diggers are made with heavy metals and other materials" It falsely states that on an excavator, the boom and the bucket together are called the "backhoe". That's a different machine entirely. There's nothing wrong with simple text, but this one is rambling and tedious. The best thing about the book is the pictures! It's really good photography of actual excavators. There are about 8 pictures.
This book is like many digger books available: it covers the basics about diggers (what they do, why their important, what various parts are called) in a clear and concise language with simple photographs for young kiddos to understand.
