This reading of Romans really brought out how Paul is encouraging patience and love in a world of total opposites. Romans is written to Jews who are struggling with being heirs with Gentiles. It is an empowering book. We are conquerors (8:31-37) through Jesus. Paul uses quotes from scripture as well as quotes from well known thinkers of the day. It also has a roll call of sorts of some of Paul’s most trusted friends. It really had good principles for today is such a polarized political world.
