This is a book of fairies which celebrates these elusive creatures, with poetry and tales of their exploits, and their entrancing, fragile charm in evocative pictures.
I loved this! It was my first book in this kind of genre of history of fairies/folklore, and it was definitely a very good first book. It wasn’t too heavy or too long. It has beautiful illustrations too which is a bonus- it really adds to the atmosphere/vibe whilst reading. It has made me want finally read my copy of a midsummer nights dream!
3.5. I don't read anthologies super often but this was nice and a little refreshing. My favorite was an excerpt from Charles Kingsley "The Water Babies"
